Description of 1985 Chevrolet Corvette

This sale is for a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette and four (4) OEM 16” 1985 Corvette wheels. The car has a clean title and current registration in my name.

It starts, runs, brakes and drives just fine for a 35 year old vehicle. Power windows, power mirrors, power rear deck window, radio & speakers and interior lights all work properly. I have only owned it a short while and my plans have changed so I am selling it. It has a number of issues that I have discovered since buying it.

Issues:

The digital dash does not work. A rebuilt replacement is about $250 online and there are YouTube video procedures for removing/replacing it that show it as fairly simple and straightforward.

The retractable headlights do not work properly. The lights come on/off but they do not retract/open. (From what I read online, this is a typical problem with C4 Corvettes.)

It is loud! I had the exhaust system inspected at my repair shop and it is in perfect condition. They think the two mufflers are “performance” mufflers and thus the noise. They quoted me $600 to replace everything from the catalytic converter on back with pipes and “quiet” mufflers.

The upholstery is worn in a number of places.

The wheels/tires are old and showing some checking within the tread area (sidewalls are okay.) The rims are Corvette but they are 17” from another year’s model. The tires are 40 series (very wide.)

The paint is bad. I know it looks good in the pictures but it is in poor condition in a number of places.

The car has a OEM Delco radio with a OEM Bose speaker system. It has "good bones" and if the issues listed above are addressed, should be a good car.

Payment is to be received (by mail) in five (5) calendar days from the end of the auction. Pickup of the car is to be within ten (10) days of the end of the auction. Payment is to be in one of two forms: USPS Money Order or Cashier's Check drawn on a major US bank (Wells Fargo, etc.) If you pick it up within the ten (10) day window you may pay cash on pickup.

No warranty is expressed or implied. I have told you all I know about the car.
