Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

California rust free car stored since 1970. Only 150 miles on a body off frame restoration. Themed as an old school hot rod.
EXTERIOR: No rust! The fit and finish is amazing. Every square inch of It is laser beam straight. The panels fit square and flush, doors click shut. The black is polished like a literal mirror. The white is a beautiful pearl also polished like glass. Door jambs are painted as slick as the outside. New weather strips. New windshield and gasket. All the stainless trim is new. The chrome is new. It has a smooth front bumper with no visible bolts or seams. The wheels really make it cool in my opinion. Salt Flat style wheels in front. Painted black rims with screw in studs and vintage style street slicks in back.
INTERIOR: It has the original door panels and rear seat upholstery in very good shape. New sport bucket seats that recline were installed. It has several Hot Rod touches- vintage style steering wheel, tachometer mounted on the column, SW gauges in the dash and vintage aluminum gas pedal. They even left the clutch pedal there from when it was a manual shift. Now it has a Hurst ratchet shifter on the floor with a Rat Fink knob. The carpet and headliner were replaced, dome light works. The dash panel is painted gloss black, it has a custom insert with the gauges and vintage radio.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Fresh performance built 396 motor. It has an Edelbrock intake, dual feed Holley carb, HEI ignition and a set of headers. True hot rod style with no frills. The master cylinder is upgraded to a dual reservoir. The radiator is a new polished aluminium. The fire wall is painted smooth. The bottom of the hood, fender wells and core support are smooth satin black. Everything looks very meticulous and fresh.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Original solid metal painted gloss white. It has a cut carpet mat with bound edges. New weather strip and rear seat divider. The battery is relocated to the trunk. There is a battery disconnect switch under the car.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a show quality underside. The floors are all metal with no rust. The floors, braces, inner rockers look like clean original metal. It is so nice the bottom was painted a gloss white. The chassis is smooth clean metal painted gloss black. The frame was reinstalled with new bushings and bolts. The front end was completely rebuilt. Rear suspension was rebuilt, it has old school traction bars. All rebuilt brake system, has disc in brakes in front. New fuel system- tank, sending unit and lines. Bottom of the motor is clean, starter looks new. It has a built Turbo 400 automatic trans. There is a safety loop around the driveshaft. It has posi gears in the rear end. The exhaust is 3 inch that dumps right past the FloPro mufflers. You are not sneaking home late at night with this one.
