Description of 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Rare factory "Corvette" motor with dual quads. Numbers correct from cam to carbs. Only 2,000 miles on meticulous body off frame restoration. Built and lived in California it's entire life until we recently snatched it.
EXTERIOR: Gorgeous factory colors- Tropical Turquoise and India Ivory. Every piece of chrome and stainless was replaced or restored. All new EZI date coded glass. New window seals and gaskets. Correct T-3 headlights. Period correct Kelsey Hayes wire wheels are on BF Goodrich radial whitewalls. The body is absolutely amazing. It is perfectly straight and fits square and flush. I see no signs of body work, damage or rust. The paint is polished out very smooth and glossy from the rockers to the roof. The door jambs are spotless- new hardware, weather strips, sill plates etc. Every piece of chrome and stainless trim was replaced or restored.
INTERIOR: Professionally installed reproduction upholstery. All chrome was replaced or restored. The metal was all repainted smooth and glossy. The gauges were rebuilt. The clock is upgraded with quartz movement. The radio, power supply and speakers were rebuilt. It has a deluxe heater. A stereo was cleverly hidden in the tissue dispenser. rebuilt seats with nice firm cushions, the upholstery fits tight as a drum. The correct tight loop carpet with reproduction mats are on the floor. You can even look up under the dash and the heater box, firewall pad, pedals, kick panels, everything is like new. Overhead the headliner visors, mirror and working dome light are new. The door panels, armrests, window cranks have all been replaced.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very rare and very cool high performance dual quad "Corvette" 265-225 hp motor. It is factory correct. The casting # is for a 1956 only, it has FH (225 hp dual quad with automatic) stamped on the front pad. The solid lifter cam- 3711354, double hump heads- 3731762, Carter WCFB carbs- front 2419S, rear 2362S, distributor- 1110879 blueprinted and upgraded with Pertronix electronic ignition, fuel pump- 5594346, 3/8 heat riser- 3731396. It also features correct 9 fin valve covers, Corvette air cleaners, exhaust manifolds, deep groove pulleys, oil fill tube and breather. It has a high output generator. It runs cool with a 4 core radiator, electric fan, custom shroud and overflow bottle. The motor compartment is polished and detailed right down to the last clip or clamp. The interstate battery is bolted down properly, new cables. The hinges are restored. It has optional electric wipers. There is a vintage Sun Tachometer unit.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Perfectly clean metal painted gloss white. New correct rubber mat, weather strip and decal. A never used white wall tire on a turquoise rim for a spare, and it has a complete jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It looks like a model car. The body was off the frame for a thorough restoration. The entire chassis was stripped, rebuilt and detailed. New bushings, balljoints, shocks etc. It was upgraded with a front swaybar and rear tubular traction bars. The brake system was completely restored, e-brake assembly is complete. The fuel system was restored. The floors, inner rockers, braces are pristine metal repainted in the correct red oxide color. Looking up at the motor it is still spotless. The starter, fuel pump and flywheel cover look new. The trans was upgraded with a 3-speed Turbo 350 automatic rebuilt with shift kit. In back it has a rebuilt and detailed rear end with 3.55 gears. The dual exhaust has old school Smithy mufflers that make perfect sound.
This is one of the exceptional cars. It is obvious the car was taken down and completely restored with a lot of pride. To find a true California 56 Chevy with original dual quad motor is a rare find. Someone will be very lucky to own this car!
