Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Original 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air 4 Door Hard Top 4X4… This is a 1957 Chevrolet 4 Door Hard Top that has been modified just a little. The car body was removed completely and then lowered on an original 1941 one ton military weapons carriage. The undercarriage is all original from the military and was built for carrying war weapons. The military called it a truck and it was referred to as a Weapons Carrier. It’s a 4 wheel drive heavy duty 1 ton running gear assembly. It also has the original granny low 4 speed transmission and the front axle has the warn twist locking hubs. It also has the four wheel drive shifter that when you pull up or push down it will go in or out of two wheel drive or four wheel drive. The rear end has positive traction and has floating axles. This thing will climb the steepest hills and will move like a tractor. Fun stuff! The engine is a Chevy small block 283 cubic inch oversized to a 301 displacement. The engine was overhauled years ago and has possibly about 25 k miles on it. The engine runs and has been started every so often since 1989 when I drove this car to high school. The body is complete and was restored at the beginning of the early 1980’s. The car was last driven and was in great condition in the years of late 1980’s but then was parked in the year of 1992. The upholstery is complete and the dash is complete and the entire exterior stainless steel is there and everything is attached. but the car has been sitting. The car has had some minor repairs in the past few years by my father and it has had new wheel brake cylinders installed. along with the master break cylinder. The clutch slave cylinder has also been replaced and I believe maybe a few other things have been repaired as to make it at least drive-able in case it was wanted to be moved. This is a great car that can be restored and it is definitely an eye catcher. Everywhere this car goes; stop lights. freeways. intersections. every place it travels. all day long and at night everyone can’t help but notice it’s a one in a million car. The starting bid is $8. 00. The price is this way because of its rarity. There was not very many 4 door hard tops (sports sedans) manufactured. It’s all complete. Just re-chroming. repainting and reupholstering and no searching for parts. This car can be restored and worth what monies invested… The car is in Morgan Hill which is 20 minutes south of San Jose.
