Description of 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Located stored in a remote section of New Hampshire. after having been not driven for a number of years. this fun and lovely Bel Air Sedan was a terrific find. A very solid. complete. and iconic sedan for its vintage. and generally uncorrupted. amazingly enough over the past 59 years. Representing an older restoration. it required updating and refreshing. which encompassed installation of new Turquoise pre-molded carpeting. from Ecklers. new 15" Uniroyal radial whitewall tires. servicing the engine. suspension and driveline with new spark plugs. air filter. oil and filter (semi-synthetic 10/30 Valvoline). greasing all lube points. transmission oil ATF replacement. fuel system flush with new filter. differential oil replacement. brake inspection and adjustment with brake fluid flush. cooling system flush with new and correct green anti-freeze. new inner and outer front wheel bearings with seals to right and left wheels. new wiper blades. and all followed by a professional cleaning. buffing. waxing and detailing. I'm sure I missed something here. Chevrolet's indestructible 235 cubic inch "Inline" six cylinder engine. coupled to a Powerglide transmission. the Bel Air runs very nicely. smooth. with no unusual noises or smoke. Do not expect "neck breaking" acceleration with this "suite". however the Bel Air cruises quite nicely. with precise steering and tracking. Refinished in a two stage process of Nassau Blue and India Ivory. (base coat. clear coat) its a beautiful and certainly classic look for the car. however the refinishing was not done to high classic car standards. but more concisely was given an average refinishing. After some close examination. a wet sand and buff would make a terrific difference. The paint is overall very nice. but illustrates some roughness in some areas of the clear coat. thus the wet sanding suggestion. I may address this prior to auction end if time permits. Minor chips appear randomly. however can be easily touched up. The Bel Air's interior. reminiscent of the mid to late 1960's Hot Rod style. is in nice condition. with some minor perimeter welting working loose in a few areas. Seats and headliner are very nice. with the exception of one small seam separation on the top drivers bench. The carpet is brand new. and was professionally installed. Glass is fine with some evidence to the right passengers windows having sustained some minor sandblasting damage prior to the car being refinished. All the lights. speedometer. wipers and controls work normally. with the exception of the clock. adio. and a intermittant fuel gauge with a mind of its own. The Bel Air chrome bumpers and hood ornament appear to have been redone. Door handles. and rear tail light trim illustrate some pitting. Stainless is in nice condition. Chassis and body mounts are solid as is the frame. suspension. floors. quarters. and rockers. There is evidence of previous repair to the bottoms of a couple of doors. however they are in very solid condition. and still show and appear very nicely. New back up lamp lenses. and the left rocker stainless molding were installed and affixed respectively after the photo shoot. In conclusion. for a 59 year old vehicle. the Bel Air presents itself very nicely as a driver quality vehicle. Its not concourse. but a very respectable survivor. refinished in a fabulous Nassau Blue and India Ivory classic color for 1956 . and. without question. fun to be in and drive. I recommend personal inspection and a test drive prior to purchase. and will not allow such as a condition of sale after auction end. The Bel Air will be sold as is. where is. with no warranty expressed or implied. Furthermore. I reserve the right to end the auction early. given the Bel Air is for sale locally. and is advertised worldwide on other venues. Bidders with a feedback score of 10 (ten) or less. kindly contact me prior to bidding. thus risking having your bid cancelled. having not done so. It would be appreciatedPlease feel free to contact me with any questions. and kindly. not my specific reserve. however it has been fairly and affordably established using Old Cars Report Price Guide and NADA. at under $10K for those of you compelled to ask none the less. Amusingly. it always happens. Please. enjoy the pictures and thank you for the interest. Chris 413-575-8600 (Please. No Texts)
