AM/FM Radio. Cassette Player. Heat. Vinyl Interior. Power Brakes. Power Steering. Seatbelts SELLER REMARKS Impala coupes are legendary for being cool. comfortable. and powerful. This one has all the right features of an icon with a few upgrades for all the right reasons. This is a very desirable year for the full-sized Impala. Chevy revamped the coupe's styling to have a thicker. more aggressive c-pillar. This was combined with a chrome separating line at roof's base to create a hardtop convertible appearance that has remained very popular today. In the rear. Chevy signified the styling direction of the early 1960s by eliminating the tailfin. and it looks great with the pearl white paint. The top-of-the-line Impala did this particularly nicely with a brushed aluminum panel and six taillight arrangement that was a standout to the car. Another great touch specially for the Impala was the chrome strip running the length of the car in a progressive thickness. This appears like an arrow pushing the coupe forward. and within this brightwork is a red color stripe that gives a nice hint at what awaits when you step inside. The dash. carpets. and upholstery are all in a shade of burgundy that looks quite fashionable in modern times. But this one still feels every bit 60s with plenty of interior chrome on the console. steering wheel insert. and the seat end panels. This Impala has some other original and desirable features such as power steering. seat belts. and heater/defrost. One piece that was not available in 1962. but is a welcomed addition today. is an AM/FM/cassette stereo. It's a knob-style unit that is built to look similar to the original radio. and it is an easy way to adapt for more modern music players. Sitting in this car is an experience. Everything from the steering wheel to the weave on the vinyl seats still looks and feels nearly factory fresh. While this coupe has been cared for all its life. the exceptional condition of the interior might be more of a testament to a quality restoration performed about a decade ago. But the best feeling from this car comes from rolling down all the windows and allowing this pillarless hardtop push the wind through your hair like a convertible. The 327 cubic-inch V8 is now an icon in the small block Chevy circles. and that legend began in 1962 so it's especially cool to have the "Turbo-Fire" powerplant in this Impala the chrome valve covers and air cleaner only make it better. The V8 is mated to a period-correct Powerglide automatic transmission and is finished off with a throaty dual exhaust. This sound can be enjoyed for as long as you want because this Impala is configured to be a cruising machine. It's hard to tell that this one is wearing modern (and more comfortable) tires thanks to the correct sport wheel covers. Plus. when it comes time to stop. the power brakes are always a desired feature. This is one of those rare Impala coupes that has preserved its original spirit over half a century. Now it's your time to enjoy this unique icon. Call today!! 1962 Chevrolet Impala for Sale 1962 Chevrolet Impala for Sale Stock # 2971-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte.
