Seatbelts SELLER REMARKS The season is here to get into a cool cruising classic convertible. and this 1963 Corvair does it an affordable price. The Corvair's styling was GM's take on a European car. and so driving one today turns heads wherever it goes. This drop top has seen a lot of love over its lifetime. so it has all the right looks of an original survivor. It's had the same Ember Red paint for over half a century. and today it still looks bright and clean in the sunshine - exactly what you want for a sunny day cruiser. If the weather does turn wet. the white top still makes this car stick out in a crowd. Like any good 1960s American automobile. there's nice chrome on the front bumper an on the lower rocker panel. This is the performance Monza model. and so it also gets the cool badging and sport wire wheel covers. Inside there are some nice touches that let you know this car was someone's baby. Red vinyl is extremely attractive. but it took a lot of care to make sure this one still looks so fresh. Because the interior color is in such nice condition. it seamlessly blends with the exterior when the top is down (and there's a heater/defrost to make sure you can keep the roof off longer into the cooler seasons. ) The top-of-the-line Monzas came with bucket seats as standard. Their button-textured pattern is not often seen outside of the convertibles. which means they are typically forgotten on later restorations. The dual cowl dash makes this Corvair look like a Corvette from the drivers seat. and the driver gets to take command with the optional deluxe chrome steering wheel. While nearly every inch of this Corvair looks original. there is one nice contemporary upgrade. The stereo is now an AM/FM/CD. Not only does the unit's silver color blend into the interior's chrome. but it's also very welcomed to know you won't have to cruise around just listening to an AM radio. The rear-mounted air-cooled flat-six motor provides plenty of amusement. The mounting placement of the engine gives this convertible a lower center of gravity and some Porsche-style handling fun at a value price. This motor was built to have a rather large rev range. and this is really felt while rowing through he four-speed manual transmission. This Corvair has only averaged about 1. 00 miles a year during its lifetime. Combined with a history of meticulous maintenance. and it drives much better than any other vintage convertible you could pick up today - even double the money. This Corvair provides the right looks for some fair-weather fun. Everyone knows when purchasing a classic American convertible. you'll never regret the drive.
