Description of 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle

This true SS car has been driven 950 miles since a complete frame off nut and bolt restoration and is in better than new condition. The frame was sandblasted and re-coated. Then an all new upgraded tubular suspension was added including front and rear sway bars CPP 14:1 power steering box all new stainless steel brake and fuel lines 4 wheel power disc brakes and e-brake. All supported by new 15" Cragar SS rims new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and the original 12 bolt posi-rearend with 4:56 gears. The shell of the car was stripped and primed. The underneath of the car was sealed with chassis black and then undercoated. Then the shell was set back on the frame with all new urethane body bushings new grade 8 bolts and washers. All body panels were pre-fit and checked for proper gaps then the car had a base coat clear coat show quality finish applied. All new wiring was installed from the headlights to the tail lights including a modern fuse block. A new gas tank was installed with new straps and an electric fuel pump. The Drivetrain was then installed and is a fresh period correct 68 427 435HP L71 big block. It has been completely rebuilt with all new parts while using the original block crank and heads. Some of the new parts added were a 750 Holley Edelbrock air gap Durashine aluminum intake MSD ignition 10:1 compression domed forged pistons roller rockers solid lifter cam high flow water pump dual fan aluminum radiator Hooker ceramic coated headers and a dual Stainless Steel Magnaflow exhaust. The new Tremec 5 speed overdrive manual transmission with new clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing combine with the 4:56 gearing to allow the car to travel 55 mph at around 2000 RPM. The black bucket seat interior with console and tilt wheel have been all redone with new upholstery. Dynamat was added to reduce heat and road noise then a new carpet and headliner were installed. A new 3 point restraint system enhances safety while a new Dakota digital dash with full gauge readout and tachometer enables quick and clear feedback on all critical aspects of the 427. The sound system was upgraded to a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth 1200 watt amp 10" sub and full range speakers. The project was completed with all new chrome emblems and trim.
