Description of 1964 Chevrolet Impala

For sale is my 1964 Impala convertible. This car has been my baby for 5 years now. Let me start off by saying the ONLY reason I am selling this car is because I just put a hunting cabin over at my farm and I have to finish the inside. The car is paid for so it is not a "have to" sell. This car has always been stored in my shed with a car cover. Today drivingto and from workwas the FIRST time it has ever been driven in the rain since I have owned it. This car has a power top power brakes and power steering. It has an awesome Muncie 4 speed that shifts flawlessly. The 350 motor has a 4 barrel and will really put you back in the seat if you so choose. I purchased this car from my neighbor who restored it completely in 1980. He repainted the car corvette red and overhauled the motor. IT WAS DONE RIGHT. This thing purrs like a kitten. It has dual exhaust that has that perfect 60's rumble. Clutch was new at restoration and works flawlessly. It has aftermarket gauges for safety sake. It has a factory Kleenex holder under the glove box which is pretty cool. It has a tilt steering wheel. The tires are about 75% but are starting to show a little weather cracking. The car has the usual rock chips that I try to touch up as I see them. The only thing I have done to this car is put a new lifetime starter on it have air shocks installed on the back to level it up and put rubber coating in the trunk. The interior is not factory but too comfortable for me to change but the seats are faded a little. The car has zero rust underneath and the trunk had a very nice patch job when I bought it with zero rust. The doors shut super easy and lock with the key. The hood and trunk shut very easy also and all the lines are straight. All the window have new rubber around them. The motor uses no oil and holds excellent oil pressure. I have shown the odometer reading but have no idea how many actual miles are on it. I know for a fact the previous owner did notdrive it much and I put less then 3000 per year on it. Also I have super sport hub caps on it but I have the originals in the trunk that will go with the car. It has the original jack and spare tire in the trunk too. I replaced the driveshaft u-joints about 2 years ago. It does not have seat belts as that was an option back then however I do have period seat belts that will go with the car. I also have 2 car covers that will go with the car. I have drove this car to church every sunday during the summer months. When I first got the car I would go for a cruise at least once a week. I do not drive it that often now. It has current license and insurance on it. This car has been in the2 local town parades the last 3 years and to prom the last 3 years. It hasbeen in one wedding.

I am an honest person and I want to tell you everything thatI know is wrong with the car. First offthe worst it has a little rust on the bottom of the quarter panels as you can see in the picture. There is a dentin the trunk that was there when I bought it. I had intentions of having it popped out but never got it done. (see the pic). The ignition switch is acting up and when you turn the key over it will not startuntil you let off however it always starts but I will try to put a new ignition switch in it before it is sold. (They are $26 at autozone). The signal switch is a manual one under the dash. The neighbor I purchased it from said he hooked the original up but it did not work all the time so he installed this one. I have been using itsince I bought it.It has the original breaks no disc conversion and over the winter time they will leak. I just fill the reservoir and your good to go. The top has a rip about an inch long. It has been there since I bought the car.The emergency brake had a spring break last spring and I have not replaced it. You can still use it but it is pain because youhave to reach down and lock it so I don't use it. As you can see in the pics the radiator has started seeping at the top. I have not worried too much about it I just check the water about every 3-4 weeks and usuallydon't have to add any.I change the oil every spring when I unwinterize it. It has already been changed this year.

I see these cars selling for$15000 to $20000 on ebay. This is not one of those cars but for not much money it could be. I am setting the reserve way below that. I feel I am asking a fair price for good reliable 64 impala convertible. There is nothing in this world like putting the top down at sunset on a 75 degree day and going for cruise with the one you love! And if you choose to step on the gas hard and chirp some tires it will. (I choose not to) Some of the young folks ask why dont you put a bunch of hydraulics on it with a big bumping radio....well to each their own but there issomething magical about cruising in this car with the only sound is the rumble of the dual exhaust! This car has been an excellent car forme and one I thought I would never get rid of but my kids love being outdoors and having a little get away cabin seems more important right now then this ol classic car. I am sureIwill regret selling this car and who knows if the reserve isn't met then it is meant to stay inmy hands but if you are the lucky bidder to take this car home I hope you will be as happy with it as I have been. Every time I take this car out I meet someone that comes over and ask about it and tells me their story of their impala they had and what it meant to them. Here is your chance to start your own story! Feel free to come by and we will take her for a spin. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me. I work at a prisonso it will be after 4:30pm cst before I can reply. Good luck bidding and thanks for looking

Not sure why it is listed as Impala black but the only way Ebay could change it was to end the listing.
