Description of 1939 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
1939 Chevy truck. Original straight 6 but entire drive train is frozen. Extra fenders 6 doors two cab sections original hub caps brand new never used front sides and back windshield. Probably too far gone for restoration. Was going to use for a ratrod project. No title. BUYER MUST PICK UP FROM LEBANON TN. NO SHIPPING. On Jun-03-15 at 10:22:47 PDT seller added the following information: Answers to some questions-• Wheel base is 114 inches.• Was told by several based on the dash this might be a 1940. I was told it was a '39 from the guy I got it from but don't have a title to confirm either way. • Listed as original straight six. Believed it to be may not be. Can't confirm. However the engine (and entire drivetrain. Back wheels do not roll) has been frozen for years and probably beyond restoring anyway (like the truck). This is a parts or ratrod truck. On Jun-04-15 at 10:40:37 PDT seller added the following information: Info from a bidder that describes this as a 1940 not a 1939-"#1 - by the taller chevrolet header just above the front grille # 2 - turn marker lights on front fenders #3 - the dash has a rectangular cluster (39 has round gauge set and if to install a 40 dash panel was reinstalled the bottom ears mounts would be off by 7/8") # 39 beds are 45&3/4" wide with 2" wider fenders = (if measured if just above tire arch by tape measure touching to inner side panel of bed ) 40 beds are 48& 3/4 wide = across tailgate opening = in history the big 3 and others had to make beds to carry standarized plywood 4 by 8 because plywood in various sizes before ...(military didn't do this the housing industry did --- by what a man could handle for roofing use --- 39 trucks used 37 & 38 beds with a one year 39 fender different design of 37 & 38 === just to note; car' s and trucks in 41 went to wider placed headlights on fenders for safety concerns; this reduced head on accidents..." |
