Description of 1949 Chevrolet Other

1949 Chevrolet 2 Door Skyline Deluxe.

Please read entire ad carefully view all photos and agree to the disclosure below before bidding on this wonderfully restored 1949 Chevy.

VIN – GAA206782 – Clean Massachusetts State title in hand!

4000 miles since frame-on restoration. Climate controlled storage since restored. Has only seen ideal weather conditions (not even a drop of rain) since restoration was complete.

Body stripped of all interior/windows/chrome/paint/body filler and brought down to bare metal. Several areas were in need of repair and job was done correctly by welding in new metal pieces (Not Bondo’d or fiberglassed). Paint looks about a foot thick. Absolutely gorgeous black paint. No rust no rot no dents. All exterior and interior emblems trim hubcaps chrome and stainless pieces were repaired rechromed restored or replaced during restoration. All windows are in great shape too (All new rubber moldings and felts were added when car was reassembled). No time or expense was spared to get this to be a show quality piece.

A stunner on the road always gathers a crowd at shows and a great cruiser. Turns heads everywhere!

Took 2nd place in its class at the World of Wheels (Held its own but ultimately “lost” to a $100k+ Crown Vic).

Interior although not original was professionally redone to give it a more elegant appearance. Two tone Black and Gray interior looks fantastic and stays true to the style of the 50’s. Custom carpeted floor mats were added and the trunk is carpeted/detailed as well (with reproduction period correct Chevrolet spare tire cover).

Drivetrain was maintained throughout the restoration. Engine’s Blue Flame Straight 6 “216” head was machined and modified to accept unleaded fuel without having to regularly pour in additives. Engine transmission and undercarriage were all kept “honest” (not overly detailed just cleaned and very well maintained). The power plant’s “bottom end” was never touched during the rebuild (crank pistons etc. still original) but it could use an eventual refresh due to a slight bearing noise. “3 on the tree” Manual shift Manual Steering Manual drum brakes.

Most components (Lights Gauges etc.) work well but Radio clock directionals and heater can be temperamental.

Cooper 6ply wide whitewall tires are in great shape (Car moved frequently while stored to avoid flat spots). The tires alone are a conversation piece whenever the car is shown.

Just passed MA state inspection April 2015-April 2016.

Ready to cruise this summer? This is a classic piece of nostalgia you and your family will enjoy for years to come!
