Description of 1960 Chrysler Saratoga Saratoga

1960 Chrysler Saratoga - some of the coolest tail lights to ever come out of Detroit. One of my projects that I'll never get around to in time so now it must go to the next owner. I believe that this car is indeed a "survivor" and the mileage is correct at 35651 miles due to the fact that it has been in Ohio all of it's life and looking the door seams and bottoms. The door bottomsare very nice and clean. The doorsshut with a solid "thunk". Typical rust through in the typical places, ut not too bad. The roof needs a repaint. Acrylic steering wheel exhibits the usual deterioration, s they practically all do at this age. Previous owner removed the padded dash cover. I wire-wheeled the trunk floor and brushed on POR15, s I had intention to replace the trunk floor covering. I have the trunk lock, ust not installed. New Mexican blanket on the front seat, ack seat is not ripped or torn, ust old and stiff. Headlights, ail lights and turn signals work. Even the map light works above the radio. I just tuned it up and the engine runs incredibly quiet.

The good: New plugs, istributor cap & rotor, oints, ondenser and plug wires. Runs quiet. New oil filter & oil change. New aluminum radiator, pper & lower hoses and thermostat. NOS trunk latch installed ($65 - OUCH!). New Mexican blanket front seat cover. Battery has some age on it but still performs well. Tires have fair amount of tread and on chrome rally wheels. Beautiful glass all around and stainless window trim in decent shape except for about a 3 inch long dent right above the driver on front windshield. New weather stripping around trunk.

The bad: Needs brakes repaired, eeds emergency brake repaired. Lacking a headliner but I have all of the headliner bows. Front seat needs recovered. Deck lid started to show rust in the braces, o the rust was cut out and patches welded in place but needs finished (the deck lid is structurally fine now, nderside cosmetically needs finishing). Just an old car that needs gone through.

The weird: Someone made a fuel tank for this. Don't know why but it seems well made and has no leaks.

To go with the car: I have an extra set of headlight trim, extra radiators (the original and a mid-60's), new in the boxes oil filters, n extra set of 15" rims for rollers on tires that hold air (2 steel rims, Jeep rally wheels). A new in the box brake master cylinder.

Just a cool old Chrysler that you don't see too much anymore. But, t is an old car that will need attention. Lost my storage, oo many projects and as they say: My loss is your gain. It will lot drive and with some effort go onto a trailer or carrier but remember no brakes. I will be available and assist with loading anyway that I can. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs.
