Description of 1940 Chrysler Royal

Up for auction is this ultra-rare &super cool 1940 Chrysler Royal Couple. According to the previous owner, nly 11 of this model are registeredin the US. Please let me know if you own one to try to verify this. I've been to many car shows and have never seen another one. This is a mostly original coupe with the original paint and a totally rebuilt engine It has the #s matching Flat-head six with '3 on the tree' transmission, ew clutch disc, ressure plate & throw out bearing. The starter does drag a bit, owever, lways starts right up and idles smooth and whisper quiet. The speedo was turned back at rebuild and now shows 02668 miles. The miles will be more as I continue to drive this car several times per week. This car runs and drives great. And people really respond to it with thumbs up and smiles when I have it out and about. It is really a cool looking rig that is a joy to drive. Looks 'gangsterish' with the visor and fender skirts. The engine carries 40#s of oil pressure all the time and runs at 185 degrees no matter how warm it is outside. The car has newer radial tires and rides smooth. It easily cruises at 55 mph & has great road manners, oes not shimmy or stray at all. The brakes are good and stop the car good. It has a very cool speedo that changes color when excellorating. First it's green 0-10mnp then yellow at 10-25, hen orange at 25-45 and over 45 it turns red. A very unique and cool option. The car shifts smooth with no clutch chatter. The body of the car is solid throughout with no trace of surface rust and definitely no rust through anywhere. It was a southern car most of its life and has never seen road salt. The original paint is cracking on the trunk, owever shows nice patina. The car has new bumpers and a very nice & sharp looking grill. Absolutely no patch panels or bondo on this car. No major dents, owever a few chips and blemishes as expected for a car that celebrating its 75th birthday! Simply an amazing survivor! The glass is all good,. The windows and doors open & shut good. The door locks even work. The interior has been refurbished at some point. This car looks respectable but is not perfect. All in all I enjoy driving this car just the way it is as it makes you feel like its 1940 again. To me that is very neat. The car has a nice stereo to listen to while you are 'cruising'. The 12 volt battery for the radio is in the trunk and will not be included with the car. The rest of the car runs on the original 6 volt system. The lights(high/low, orn, ome light, linkers, ash lights and gauges all work as they should. The car has a fairly new exhaust and sounds really neat, ot too loud either. Look over the pictures & read description and email with any further questions. I love talking old cars with people. I think I've covered this car as best I can, owever, f I have missed something please email me with your questions. In review, his is an excellent driving, ery dependable, olid, ostly original, ltra rare, harp, esirable body style, iece of American auto history that has been a joy to own and cruise in. I'm sure new owner will be satisfied and delighted. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due to PayPal within 24 hours of the end of the auction.
