Description of 1979 Chrysler Cordoba

1979 Chrysler Cordoba! Real Black car, electric sunroof, power leather seat, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, Landau roof, 360 v8, and much more!
I was told this was a 1 owner car, and I bought it from the original owners son. My understanding is this car spent most of its life inside as this was the old mans favorite car. This car was bought new in Portland, OR and the clock shows 80,156 which I believe is more accurate than 180xxx but cannot verify that. This car has many great add-ons and features.
The car currently runs and drives.
However the car will need some things addressed before really being road ready. Unfortunately before my purchase there was an under-hood fire which consumed a nice chunk of the wiring harness and left a burn mark on the hood about 1.5" in diameter. As such some of thegaugesand lights do not work. Additionally this should be a lean burncar but the previous owner wired in a points distributor (likely for simplicity) so the car could be moved around. A new carb was installed, but many of the factory connections, including the lean-burn system, were not reinstalled or repaired. You can see in the images of the firewall where the fire had done some damage and where the slow process of rebuilding the harness is taking place. Also, the cooling system is will need some attention. On the last drive the radiator showed some external bubbles and it probably wouldnt be a bad idea to give the system a flush and new thermostat anyway. The fire also took out the AC system (you can see a melted hose in the pic) and the charging system. Fortunately with the new battery it can be driven a few miles without needing a charge.
Overall this car is still in great shape. The paint is not flawless and is likely about a 10 footer; there are a couple thin spots and door dings since itwasn'ta garage queen but a little repair and buffing could bring it within a 5-footer or so. The interior shows some wear, and will likely need a headliner due to sagging. The power windows work, the electric drivers seat works, the radio works, many of the gauges still function. You can tell this car was driven but taken car of until the fire. I was told the sunroof had never been opened, and I don't intend to open it for fear it wont reseal.
My dream for this car would be to build a "gentleman'shotrod" and since the fire already ruined some of the originality of the car i would port the heads, install a cam and a nice dual exhaust system with good mufflers, and FiTech fuel injection system to make a very classy yet sinister cruiser. However due to limited time and limited indoor storage my fear is the Northwest winter will start to ruin this car before I can get to it.
I try to represent this car accurately and to the best of my knowledge. I likely forgot some things but I feel this is just what it is and Ihaven'towned the car long enough to know every little in and out of it. I will gladly answer any questions I can or get more pics of anything specific you would like to see. I think this car just needs what every older car needs and a little attention and love to a few areas. The car runs and drives good. Even without the choke hooked up a few pumps of the peddle and it starts and idles. Drives down the road good, will be better with new tires. And more miles! These cars were built to be driven and enjoyed!!!!
