Description of 1963 Chrysler Imperial

This is a no reserve auction for a very rare 2 door Crown Coupe...meet "Tank", so named by my girlfriend many years ago. I have owned this car for 14 years. I was doing a driving/resto on it until the local maintenance people broke the Park lever while trying to move it. In the 6 years that have followed, rust and time have taken their toll. It is time to let it go to someone who can give it the time and money that it needs. There is extensive rust issues and the brake lines have rusted away. The gas tank has holes and will need to be repaired. There are some positives- the large center bearing for the driveshaft has been replaced and the glass is all good. The radio was rebuilt although the signal-seeking portion couldn't be fixed and the sun has eaten the speakers. The deck lid is in pretty good shape. The previous owner told me that the engine was rebuilt and that the corner of the hood got damaged during removal. The engine always ran very well and I have made a point of turning it over every few months. I have no proof that the rebuild ever occurred. The A/C never did blow cold, but goes on. I'm sure it needs a complete overhaul. The trunk has many trim pieces and a good pair of driver side hinges for the door...now the negatives- the rust is everywhere and will require a very talented person with many years experience. The title says 1967 due to a clerical error; the VIN is clearly for a '63...not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. There is no jack but there is a spare. I would like to find someone who can give this special Mopar a home and bring it back to its former glory; it is an original black car and had the rich metallic red interior Chrysler was famous for... the doorarmrests are gone but the existing seats are usable. It will be necessary to tow the car from the back due to itsbeing stuck in park. I'm sure I've forgotten many things so please don't hesitate to ask questions. Thanks for looking! This will be one of those situations where only a Chrysler lover with an appreciation for posterity will get involved; according to "Cars and Parts" magazine some years ago, there were only 17 registered!
