Description of 1984 Chrysler LeBaron Executive Limousine

1984 Chrysler LeBaron Executive Limousine - RARE
Offered For Sale - 1984 Chrysler Executive Limousine Finished in "Mid-Night Blue" with the Optional "Blue Leather".
A little history on the 1984 Chrysler "Executive Limousine" and what they were Really about -
It was a Vision from Chrysler and an easy way to enter the affordable Limousine market by offering compact, easy to drive, and maneuver limousines.
In addition to private use, they were owned and operated by Chryslers Owned and Sponsored "Thrifty Car Rentals" The Executive Sedan the most common one in commercial use and the Executive Limousine mainly for private businesses.
The Executive Sedan was a on a 124" chassis where as the "Executive Limousine" was on a 131" chassis. They were based on the LeBaron. All Executives were built by conversion specialist known as ASC near St, Louis Missouri. They both began as standard LeBaron coupes. Standard front doors (from LeBaron sedans) were utilized, while the rear doors were individually fabricated using the rearward-half of the coupe door. Interiors were available in navy blue cloth or leather (available at extra charge), or powder gray cloth. For 1984 and on, standard exterior colors were black, medium blue, dark blue, white, charcoal (discontinued after 1984) and silver. Standard vinyl roof coverings matched the body color, while the interior panels were all covered in cloth - even if leather seating was ordered.
On the Executive Limousine, the front center console between the front seats concealed the duct work for the rear air conditioning vents. The Executive Limousine - Which is what this one offered for sale is; (option code A-89) had a thick center divide behind the front seats that held a glass divider with power sliding center panel (controlled from the passenger-side switch panel), two upholstered jump seats, five air conditioning vents (with flow controlled by a switch on the rear passenger-side door), an illuminated storage compartment with a flip-down door, and an AM/FM stereo with cassette (separate from the driver's sound system) controlling the four rear speakers. Above the divider glass was a "glamour module" lighting unit - with overhead lights for the console, as well as individual reading lamps for the two jump seats. Once the rear doors were closed, the lamps located in this overhead console would slowly theatre-dim before turning off. Executive Sedans had a similar lighting feature, in the form of a small single lamp located above each rear door. Both Sedan and Limousine models had adjustable rear-seat headrests, two-position foot rests, rear quarter reading lamps, and pillar mounted assist straps.
a Mitsubishi 2.6 L engine with a 3-speed automatic transmission, it runs absolutely smooth and shifts and drives very well. Gas mileage can be from 21 City to 29 Highway. The front wheel drive train handles this car perfectly well.
Information on this Particular Example -
I purchased this Chrysler from a Car Collector in Pennsylvania where it was in a large storage warehouse for over 20 years. I repaired everything needed for perfect operation on the road. Mechanically it runs and drives perfect. The list is very long and was expensive, but worth the expenses. But the easy stuff is new brakes complete, tires, window regulators, muffler, carburetor, belts, hoses, etc. Starts and runs as good as it did when new.
In my opinion, as Rare as these are, you will probably not find a nicer one on the market. Exterior paint is in good shape, but does have some scratches, chips and dents. It appears to have been repainted the original color many years ago. Front windshield is cracked, but does not need immediate replacement. The most important part, is that the vinyl top is in as perfect shape as one could be.
Engine runs great and shift perfect. Minor surface patina on uncoated metal parts, otherwise clean.
The interior is in very nice condition. Leather seats are perfectly in tact and not ripped or town. Leather for the most part is soft and supple (rear seat softer than front seats). I installed a new head liner from front to rear and completely detailed the carpets, etc. It looks real nice. There is a window switch that does not work, but the partition slider works perfect. The original radios I managed to get a hold of, they need to be installed and a new power antenna would be needed. Electrical Dash light are all functional. Speed sensor does not always read. Otherwise, Very Very Nice.
It is a fun Limousine to Cruise and have a lot of Fun with. It is a Total Head Turner and Conversation Piece. Gets a lot of attention no matter where you go. We have our neighbor drives us around to dinner on weekends when we don't want to take an Uber.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call and I will gladly show you the car.
Cheers and I look forward to meeting with you.
