This 1931 Chrysler CD-8 Deluxe Roadsterone of only 511 rumble seat roadsters produced with very few surviving today. This car has been in a long-term American car collection, sharing garage space withPackards, Roadsters and other prewar classics. Restoredin the late 80s, it became thecenterpiece of the collection.

This is a significant prewar Chrysler ina desirablespecification. CD-8 Roadsters enjoyed real success in international competition with strong finishes at Spa and Le Mans in 1931 and 1932. The car’s older restoration presents well, with straight, undamaged body panels exhibiting good shine after decades of indoor storage. The paint in the Cowl area has started to crack and lift in a few areas. There's other areas on the car that have started to crack and the a arearalso on the hood. Overall Looks great but the paint is from thelate 80's. Solid all steel car.

The folding top appears tight, anda body-matchedtrunk is mounted behind the rumble seat panel. ( Not Shown In Photo's but is included )

Eighteen-inch wire wheels wear period bias-ply whitewalls, includingdual side-mounted spares. Note the dual purpose brake and reverse light.

Chromework is described as very goodall around. Glass looks clear and completein the roadster’s low, slanted windscreen and signature hood ornament that also serves as a radiator cap.

Inside, upholstery shows well for being almost 35 years old. The large diameterblack steeringwheel shows slight wear and is accented by an chrome shift knob. Gauges have been replaced withsome aftermarket replacements arranged inthe proper ’31 dash layout.

The roadster’s folding top looks to bein good condition includingbright chrome hardware and varnished wood hoops.

Under the hingedhoodlies a Mid 80's Ford inline6 cylinder and 4-spdford transmission.

Included is what we believed to be theoriginal L-head, nine-bearing straight-8 displacing 282.1 cu. in. andgood for 100 horsepower inthe Deluxe Roadster. It is fed through a single carbmanifold andpaired to a four-speed transmission and“high-speed” rear axle. Rebuilt - painted and on a shipping pallet.
