Up for auction. is a brilliant all Original 1966 Sunbeam Alpine Rootes Roadster. This very beautiful English roadster has had a very charmed life. It has been lovingly owned since day one by people that cherished it. maintained it religiously and were not afraid to spend money on keeping it Original. I have never had so much paperwork making amazing provenance on any car. There is literally hundreds of pages worth of bills. and receipts dating to 1966 for work that was performed and parts that were procured to keep this little roadster in the top shape that it is in. This included the Original title. the warranty cards. and even the Original owner's handbook. (Look at picture)It is obvious when you look at the pictures that this is a clean honest. unrusted example of the iconic Alpine. What I have to tell you is how fantastic this car is to be in. It is comfortable. and supremely easy to drive; I am 6'1" and most vintage cars tire me as I usually do not fit inside them and have to bend my legs. and arch my back to be in a decent driving position. Not in this car. The seats are brand new in their entirety. and extremely comfortable. as is the entire interior including rugs. door panels side panels and boot cover. Receipts for over $4. 00. The pedals are perfectly positioned. and my legs can remain straight to use them. The clutch is easy to depress. and easy to engage all the gears with. Speaking of which; the transmission is a delight; crisp. sharp. short throws get you in gear. up. or down. without any fuss or grinds. The motor was rebuilt in the late 90's and starts first crank in any weather. Lots of torque and lots of power. The most amazing RASP I've ever heard. similar to an Aston. The suspension was also rebuilt recently with receipts totaling the cost of $4. 00 of parts and labour. And it is obvious; this car rides like it did in 1966 I'm sure. Excellent ride. and handling. The brakes; no surprise here. they are also recent Sunbeam Specialties. and work evenly. strongly. and reliably. stopping the newer tyres. There are receipts for work from all over the car. in fact in the past 15 years there are receipts for over $25. 00 worth of parts and labour that comes with the car to keep it looking. nbsp;riding and driving like it came out of the factory. and that doesn't even include the price of the car.
