Description of 1978 Citroën 2cv / 2cv6 (Galvanized Frame)

Better-Than-New "Sausss Ente" Style Citroen 2cv, Galvanized Chassis

I am very proud to offer this gorgeous, fully-restored, better-than-new, "Sausss Ente" style Citroen 2cv for sale. If you have been looking for the right 2cv for a while, this is probably the one for you. The "Sausss Ente" 2cv's are based on a "Vert Bamboo" body, featuring special decals exclaiming, "0-100 km/h in 59.4 seconds". While the car is actually a bit faster than that, everyone agrees that the flying duck depicted on the doors and trunk, as well as the Charleston-style swooping decals, really set this car apart and is one of the more unique, and attractive, special edition 2cv's.

This particular car was owned by a long-time 2cv enthusiast who was very active in his local Citroen club, and this was his first project when he retired two years ago. After spending over 400 hours meticulously taking apart and putting back together this car, it's the attention to details that really shine through. The project included a new galanized chassis which will never rust, new floorboards, new engine, new shocks, new seats, new canvas top, new mirrors, new bumpers, new interior liner, new tires, professional paint job with clearcoat (this is the best paint job I have ever seen on a 2cv, and is better than new), and just about everything else you can think of. There are also a number of unique chrome accents on the headlights, around the taillights, and in a few other places to really set this car apart. Unfortunately, late last year he fell ill, and has since undergone a number of medical treatments and could no longer keep the car.

Not only does the car look better than new, it drives that way, too. The motor is the best that Citroen ever put into the wonderful 2cvs, with 602cc displacement and dual barrel carburetor. Given the cost of gas, it's great to know that you can cruise around in this 2cv at normal US highway speeds (top speed of over 70mph) while still achieving over 50-60mpg!

The soft top can roll all the way back to transform the car into a convertible for all 4 passengers, and can be opened from the inside of the car, even while travelling at slow speeds!

All lights, switches and instrumentation panels work perfectly and are original.

The car passed the rigorous French "controle technique" with a perfect score, which includes a 125-point inspection of all aspects of the car, including the entire brake system, emissions levels, fuel system, steering, seatbelt mounting points, all lights, oil leaks, suspension travel, bearing play, and lots more. The entire process takes approximately one hour, and is very, very thorough.

This spectacular car is already in the US with a normal, valid Ohio title. You do not have to worry about going through the customs clearing process or paying any hidden fees - the car is sold with a standard U.S. title which can be transferred to your name just like any other U.S. titled car.

Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions you might have.

As you can see in my 100% positive feedback rating, all of which were for 2cvs, all of my buyers are delighted with their cars, as I only deal with the best of the best. I've literally inspecteds hundreds of 2cvs all over France in order to choose the select few that I import. I would be happy to supply references of several of my buyers upon request, some of whom have been driving their 2cv's for almost two years and still have the smile on their face only a 2cv can bring out!

You will find a number of pictures detailing the outstanding condition of the car below.
