Description of 1982 Datsun Z-Series

1982 280ZX
Time to let my much loved and well taken care of Z car go. I have had it for seven years and have maintained it extremely well. This car runs like a top and always has, t is very fast and handles like a dream. You honestly get a bit too much attention as everywhere you go and almost every stop light, eople want to ask about it. If I had the room I would keep it forever. If you can't put this car in a garage for the rest of it's life, nd maintain it like I have, lease do not consider buying it.
I believe I am the third owner, he first two were father and son and they took extremely good care of the car as well, s far as I know it has always lived in Colorado. Over the years I have had small rust spots fixed and always kept the car in the garage or hangar. It has some very small spots that will need to be addressed over the next year or two, ut other than that the car is perfect. Those spots are very small bubbles that have not broken thru the paint yet.
I have some spare parts that I collected over the years, ll will go with the car along with maintenance manuals. It has never had any engine leaks and doesn't burn any oil, ever has. Clutch is great and never had any issues with it.
T tops are in excellent shape, hey do not leak and I have the shades for them. There is a very small leak in the drivers side window that drips when you pressure wash it.
Everything works perfect except the intermittent wiper. The wipers front and back work fine other than that. Cruise, lectric windows, udio information system ( 'left door is open' ), very thing works. Electric mirrors too.
AC is very cold with new type Freon, t has never leaked.
I have done a ton of stuff to it over the years, ere's a list of what I can remember:
Installed key fob remote electric door locks
Wheels were clear powder coated so they are always beautiful. . . a couple have some minor imperfections but they look great and will not fade.
Halogen head light kit, hey are very bright
Brake calipers are painted
Cusco strut bars on front and rear (really improved handling)
New front end is a couple of years old (ball joints, ie rod ends, tc)
New radiator and alternator (two years old)
Seems like I replaced the shocks but it's been a few years
New front bra (one year old, oesn't fit very well)
New electric antenna with spare
New window washer pump and tank with spare
New carpet and floor mats, xtra insulation under the carpet for noise abatement
Dash mat (I honestly do not know if the dash has cracks, t's been covered up since I bought it).
New updated radio with blue tooth and remote. Carbon fiber dash back plate, ew speakers.
Polished aluminum valve cover and new fan clutch
New brakes have under 5K miles on them including parking break (new cables)
Stainless steel braded brake lines
Tires are great, ess than 10K miles on them
Within in the past year: (Most work done at a Empire Nissan over the years by the same mechanic).
New distributor, atalytic convertor, omprehensive tune up, ew plug wires cap etc, ater pump, lignment, ad the timing chain inspected, t did not need to be replaced.
Windshield is new but has two small cracks along the bottom thanks to that awesome Lakewood body shop. It was in the shop because I dropped my son's snow board on the hood and scratched the paint, e had some small spots repaired at the same time.
Bad
Headliner needs work on passenger side
Intermittent wiper doesn't work
Very small leak in drivers door
New front bra doesn't fit very well
Muffler is a few years old, n great shape but will probably be the first thing that needs attention
Tint on back window needs replacing, inor tho, t's been that way since I got it
It will need a new battery soon as the body shop that worked on it last in Lakewood stole my red optima.
139,000 Miles
