1971 DATSUN 240Z - S30

Original #'s Matching Engine - Video - 4spd Manual

Thanks for checking out my 1971 Datsun 240Z - S30, you will see below an 15 minute extensive video, runningdriving walk around, followed with over 100 photos, if you have questions about the car, or are interested in buying it outright, please fell free to contact me. Thanks, Jason 503-910-2085

This 1971 Datsun 240Z is believed to have 84k original miles on it, I show some photos of it in its original paint before it was restored. At that time it had around 79K on it, and now has 84K on it. If you look at the dash pads condition, the steering wheel, the pedals, very little wear, I believe it to be original miles, but I do not have original documentation for miles, so use your best judgement. The car spent most of its life here in Oregon, it was purchased by the previous owner around 2003, andbrought down to our area for the last 13 years, there is a picture of previous owners in the auction actually as well. The previous owner, who had recently retired, drove it and enjoyed it very much. But soonafter having it,they decidedthey wanted to upgrade it with Nissan color thatthey liked, and wanted to go through the mechanicals and restore the car for further enjoyment, as you can see he did a great job, and the car looks awesome. The car does have a build date of Feb/1971, and you will see on the car, all theoriginal vin tags are on the car, door jam, dash and inner fender apron, whichalso shows the engine serial number, which also is on the engine pad as well, so it is Numbers matching. Many of these cars got upgraded with larger engines and v8 conversions, so it is hard to find original #'smatching car. I show the engine numbers as well in the auction, and talk about it in the video. Other things to note, is that the suspension, shocks, brakes have all been gone through, upgraded exhaust system, wheels and tires, everything that was done to the car was done for improving its drivingexperience. The car has been shown often at local cars shows and meets, it does show well, and overall is a great looking car.

Take a look at all the photos and you will get a very good idea of what this little Z is. Very nice paint, very glossy and good looking, no rust, no rust bubbles, around the wheel lips, rockers, inside the door jams are all very clean and in great shape. All the panels line up nicely, doors shut nice and tight, as do the hood, and trunk lid. Underneath the door bottoms, and truck lid there is no rust, very clean original metal. The paint does show well, and looks great. You will see someminor wear on it, a few small chips that have been touched up, light scratches from being driven and used, but overall in great condition, has a very nice gloss. There are afew minor imperfections, which most cars have, check out the video and pictures, and I note a few of them, so you get a good idea, its not a 100 point show car, but it isone of the best looking once that I have seen in a while. You may remember if you follow my auction, a very nice 1971 Blue one I sold, of a formerNW race car driver,I sold it, and recently it sold at aMecum auto auction back east, and believe the car ended up in Europe with a high end collector, that car had the looks of this car actually, very similar build. All the glass is in great shape, no chips or cracks. All the exterior lights areworking, including the lic. plate light, reverse lights. It has new headlight covers installed, no cracks in them, very clear. When you look down the sides of the car, it is very clean, very smooth down the side. If you have questions, pleaseask before you bid.

We went one step further, and shotphotos of the undercarriage, it is in excellent condition. The aprons, frame rails are all in great shape, no signs of any accidents, everything looked very clean, underneathlooks great. The passenger floor was replaced, as you will see in the photos, and was done nicely. Ithas a few pinholes, in the front and the back, so instead of doing patches, it was much cleaner, and honestly easier to replace the full pan. Also you will when you are looking underneath you can see all the suspension, brakes, wheels tires, are all in great shape, not many 240Z's look like this underneath, a lot of time and money were invested into this car.

Under the hood, it is very clean, engine is in great condition, rebuilt a while back, with about 5K on the drivetrain. It is numbers matching, the induction system rebuilt by Z therapy, hands down they do a great job, refurbishing SU carbs, and upgrading them at the same time. This car starts right up, and sounds great. It has good power, very smooth, at from idle to high rev. If you look at theengine compartment, you can see a lot of effort was put into it, not justcosmetically, but overall everything is verytidy, and good original components were used. In the photos underneath the car of theengine, you will see some differentair cleaners on it, you will also get those well, Iliked the flow of the original factoryair cleaner, so switched it back the next dayafter the undercarriage photos. Overall mechanically it is in great shape. Transmission shifts nicely, the clutch feels great, no chatter, all the gears fell good. After it warms up a bit,and the gear oil thins out, I show in the video, that 3rd gear, catches a little bit when you are driving it a little harder, not a grind, just a small catch, see the video and it will make moresense to you, hard to explain, butoverall all it shifts very good, up and down shift noproblem, and yes it sounds awesome downshifting into turns, and accelerating out of the turns, just music to my ears.

Interior is ingreat condition, seats, door panels are all in excellent condition, no rips or tears. The headliner, carpet, all in great shape, comes with 240Z floor mats as well. The dash pad isoriginal, and not a cover. But it does have a couple small cracks in it, but overall very nice. All the gauges work, oilpressure is great. Even the clock works. The radio, is a AM/FM Radio, which you don't see very often in these early years, and it does work as well. This is a fairly early 1971, check out the console, notice were the fuse box is under the ashtray, and location of the cigarette lighter. Overall the interior is very clean, looks great, smoke free. All the glass looks good, windows roll up and down nicely as well. Notice the rear window has the vertical defrost lines, this car is an early 1971, which they had this rear window, and the console set up this one has as well.

I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, odd ball and unique vehicles. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 75 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t. Look forward to hearing from you, please give me a call, 503-910-2085 - Jason
