Description of 1970 Datsun Z-Series 240Z 2 door coupe

.
One of the hottest investment car in the past few years. Listed on Hagerty.com in 2015 as one of their top 5 cars to buy. Per their website:
1970-73Datsun 240Z: It’s mystifying to us that there are still good 240Zs to be had for under $20,000. With the Toyota 2000GT now solidly a member of the million-dollar club, nearly everyone is priced out of that market. We’re not saying that’s in the cards for the 240 (there were after all fewer than 400 2000 GTs produced versus almost 170,000 240Zs), but with the rare twin-cam JDM 240Z variants now probably over $200,000, look for the supply of good, cheap 240s to finally dry up this year. Buy now as this Japanese Bullet Train is leaving the station as we write this.

Pulled from a garage after sitting 17 years. Previous owner was smart enough to properly maintain the engine during those years. He even hand cranked the engine, kept fresh fluids in it. We replaced all plugs, wires, starter, points, etc. This runs beautifullyoff of a funnel. Gas lines and brake lines need replacing.
All original, matching engine # to body. Paint code is unreadable.original glassvertical rear window defrosterrebuilt SU carbshas original tool kittwo sets of rims.1971 owners manualE31 headsIt needs more than I can invest time and money wise. It needs the right investor or to someone who always wanted one and will enjoy working on it. I have more into the car than the starting price. No reserve.

Happy Bidding.

Fyi, odometer reads 05458. The speedometer needle blocked the 0 and we thought it was an 8 when we first looked.
I can send pictures of anything you wish to see.

A bit more description.
The good:Engine runs great.all original, down to the trim, carpet, headliner, etc. Must can be reused.NUMBERS MATCHING.interior is decent for the age. Driver eat has a rip, dash has 2 cracks.outer body/skin overall solid, small rust area you can see in the pictures.nothing molested, ruined, changed from originalglass is all excellentclean transferable registration.some research already started on it's previous owners.
The bad.front rail and support needs replacing,Only a few weak spots underneath. Overall floors are strong, surface rust onlygas tank needs restoring/replacing.need brake and gas lines run.
As I stated - needs love, a restoration would be best. Can you get away without doing a total restoration, probably, but a great project for someone with experience.
Solid investment.
Numbers of survivors are low. First year, first generation, even lower. Not many opportunitiesout there for a 1970.
Recently a 1973 240Z sold for $32,450 !!! Hot market.see article on this sale: https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2016/08/25/auction-recap-mecum-monterey-2016
The 1970 model is obviously the best year to invest in/buy. see this chart:http://www.conceptcarz.com/valuation/2194/Datsun-240Z.aspx
Please email me with any questions. I really want to see it go to a good home.
