Description of 1971 Datsun Z-Series 240Z

Up for sale is a very nice condition 1971 Datsun 240z. The car runs and drives flawlessly, the engine starts with no problems and the car shifts fine. The brake lines have been replaced as well as the half shaft bearings, the car stops fine and is mechanically sound. Its also received all new door weatherstripping on both sides due to the previous weatherstripping drying up from age as well as brand new interior carpet. Unlike many other 240zs, the floors on this one are very solid, and have had sound deadening placed on them to reduce road noise. The car has had a repaint at some point in its life but it is as close to the original color as you can get, I would say the overall condition of the paint is driver quality, its still a nice job but has minor blemishes and one crack (as seen in pics) that would keep it from being a higher quality/show quality paint. This 240 is all original, sporting its numbers matching block and tranny that match up to the plates on the shock tower and door post. Being that this is a early model datsun, it has many unique characteristics and is extremely similar to the series 1 datsuns, it has the very rare high compression performance E31 head and 4 screw su carbs, it also has the unique ashtray that is uncommon to still be present. All of these features were later dropped in the late-71 cars and from 72-73 240zs which is also where the value tends to drop for many prudent collectors. As a result, the car is a very nice and driveable investment that would make any collector happy.
