Description of 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Hello,
I am listing my DeLorean as am anticipating a move and have one too many vehicles to garage. As a long time classic and exotic car owner as well a DeLorean enthusiast, his is a car that I have very particularly sorted over the last year to suit my driving taste and so that I would have an ideal representation of the marque. That is also why, f you are looking for a fine DeLorean, ou should be getting serious about this example. I am easy to make a deal with and will be reasonable with my monetary expectations. That being said, only know of one other example that I'd consider owning other than this one and it isn't available, o please don't low-ball. If the market isn't there, 'm happy to keep this car and sell a different one as this DeLorean is exactly where I have wanted one to be and let's be honest here, am both picky and a snob. :) And really, sn't that the kind of previous home you want your next vintage car to come from?
The story:
I bought it from the second owner. It was a very low mileage car (around 8,000 if memory serves) that had Never been hit, r smoked in, r sat outside baking in the sun or rotting in the rain. The car had actually been maintained over the years to be drive-able, ather than sitting and rotting like so many with low miles. I was able to drive it home happily. Its side stripe is original as is the paint on the bumpers which is quite nice. I wanted an ideal representation of the marque and a reliable and properly performing driving car. I had also been a previous DMC owner long ago, o I knew exactly what to do with it.
The list:
Vredestein tires- Giugiaro Design, he best available for this car (BFG Radial...YUCK!)
Wheels refinished and powder coated silver- brake dust flows right off and they are perfect
Spax shocks- adjustable dampning, tock appearing black color, ooray it drives and rides well!
Front lowering springs- with proper spring rate, ake that early 80's D.O.T. malarcky!
All new brake system parts- YES, like to stop. New calipers, BC high-end pads, tainless braided flexible lines, ew Master cylinder, rued rotors, raided clutch line
Vacuum climate control valve rebuilt
New steering column support bushing
Proper calibrated oil pressure sender
All new fluids- Engine oil (higher zinc), ransaxle fluid, rake and clutch fluid, ooling system
All cooling and heater hoses replaced with black silicon with new heater valves, ES, want to car to be nice in 50 years!
New water pump- just because I don't want the old one to start leaking because of old seals
Belts
AC recharge, ep it works!
Adjusted valves, efinished valve covers, ew gaskets
Fuel pump
Fuel lines replaces with braided stainless, ho likes old car bon fires? I'm pretty sure I don't and never want to find out!
Fuel filter including in tank pick-up
Idle air control valve
Idle control ECU
Ignition- cap, otor, ires, lugs
Fain fail fix
RPM relay
Air filter
Intake hose
The BEST full stainless exhaust system- tubular headers to a well matching stock appearing polished muffler. Excellent neighbor approved sound and performance!
(face it, he stock DeLorean exhaust system is the worst exhaust you've seen that isn't on a pre-war car. Change that properly and it's a whole different car!)
Floor mats
Door lifts with speed dampening
Speedo cable and drive disk
Optima red top sealed battery
I recently took it on a weekend highway trip out of town. The car is indeed a pleasure. It drives a strait line and does not shake or pull. The brake pedal is solid and the system works well. The suspension is tight and the doors open and shut well. It shifts properly with nothing odd about the transaxle. The clutch modulates just as it should with no chattering or slipping. The engine doesn't make any odd sounds, or does it smoke. It has excellent oil pressure and cools very well. The car is cool and confident and when I drive it, o am I. It is a nicely maintained original rather than one that was neglected and fixed up. All work has been preformed by either a DeLorean specialist or a vintage race car preparation shop, o the work is top notch.
As with any private sale, his car is sold AS-IS with no warrantees or guarantees of any kind. This description is my opinion, herefore it is the buyer's responsibility to inspect the car and know what they are buying. There are also no returns and the sale is final. It is the buyer's responsibility for pick-up or transportation. I am happy to help you coordinate your shipping efforts if need be. As a kind request, am not interested in low-ball offers, onsigning it to an auction, r selling to a dealership. Let's be honest, uctions and dealers are messing up the specialty car world for us real car guys quite badly right now and I'd much prefer to sell this car to an actual car person who appreciates it as much as I do. The Personal Nardi steering wheel shown in the pictures does not go with the car as I had personal sentiment for, he original DMC steering wheel is in good condition and goes with the car.
