Description of 1940 DeSoto

1940 DeSoto Series 7 Sedan. NEAT old car. literally drug this out of a field in Chesterfield VA. I sadly don't know much history on this car. I did get a copy of the original title with the car witch suggests its been a local car since it was new but how many owners between then and now I don't know. The body is pretty darn straight with minimal rust / rot. one of the b pillars has some at the floor but is still attached well. The floors are rust and have some holes but the frame looks pretty good. The front suspension is low and i am not sure if thats a problem or was once intentional. The interior. trim. etc had been removed from the car prior to my purchasing it but is all included in the car. Photos of most of the parts are in this ad as are pics of the original(just a photocopy) and current title. Its got a flathead inline 6 cylinder engine and a manual trans. An old 6 volt battery is still in the car so it does not appear anyone has tried to run it in a LONG time. Its not all doom and gloom for this car tho. Its got a great look. the suicide doors make being a 4 door cool and the room inside is limo like. LOTS of potential for a neat custom but also complete enough to restore stock if you so desire. Obviously this is an inoperable vehicle and is sold strictly as-is! The car has a clear VA title. We are a VA dealer so the title will need to be transferred into your name. This requires you to be present when paying and or picking up the vehicle. (We are in Richmond. VA. USA) Keep this in mind BEFORE bidding!
