The 1966–1978 Chargers were on theChrysler B platform. 1970 would be thelast year of the 2nd generation Charger. It featured a large wraparound chromebumper and the grille was no longer divided in the middle. New electricheadlight doors replaced the old vacuum style. The taillights were similar tothose used in 69. but 500 and R/T models came with a new more attractivetaillight panel. On the R/T. new rear-facing scoops with the R/T logo weremounted on the front doors. over the door scallops. A new 440 or HEMI hoodcutout made the option list for this year only. Dodge painted the hood scallopinserts black and put the silver engine callouts on top. New "HighImpact" colors were given names. such as Top Banana. Panther Pink. ublime. Burnt Orange. Go Mango and Plum Crazy. In the 1970 NASCARseason. it was the 1970 Charger that tallied up more wins (10) than any othercar. including the notorious 69 Dodge Charger Daytonas and Plymouth Superbirds. iving Bobby Isaac the Grand National Championship. VIN XP29N0G209474 The original restoration of this beautiful Charger started in 2008. A professional body shop owner purchased the car for himself and to work on as his shop was slow. He completed all of the body work and painted the car. Unfortunately. being formthe Detroit Michigan area. work slowed by 2009 and he had to sell the car. Afriend. who was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic at a Ford Lincoln-MercuryDealer. purchased the car and spent the next 2 years assembling and completing the rotisserie restoration. It was finished in 2011. Everything is new. rebuiltor re-chromed. She is restored to factory specifications! It is a factory bigblock 383 V8. D21-4 speed. B5 Blue car. There are roughly 500 miles on thebuild. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive! She rides. drives and handleslike a brand new car.
