Description of 1934 Dodge Other Panel Truck

I am selling a 1934 Dodge Humpback half ton Panel Truck. I finished this truck about 10 years ago and it has about 8k miles on it. Yes, I am the builder/owner of this truck. Though I built it to be fun and relaxing to drive, easy to own and maintain, no expense was spared and no detail went unattended. This is not a radical, ill-mannered race car. You could drive this truck to California an back doing it comfortably and stress-free. It's as reliable as anything on the road today. Even better, it has the highest safety award from the NSRA (National Street Rod Association). It wins trophies every time I take it out.
I used mostly late model MOPAR (Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth) driveline and mechanical parts, so the user-serviceable consumables like belts and hoses can be sourced at a neighborhood parts store. Having said that, this truck is rare! I have never seen one (in ANY condition) before and I doubt I will ever see another one in person. I hear there's 6 of them in current existence, but like I said, I haven't seen any of them. Needless to say, it's rare!
CHASSIS: Frame off restoration, now about 10 years since 'finished'. Undercarriage was soda blasted, primed, POR-15 (rust preventative), and painted chassis black. Front end suspension from a late model Dodge Diplomat was cut, grafted, and TIG welded to the original 34 Dodge chassis to take advantage of modern suspension geometry to improve the ride quality and user-serviceability of suspension components. The rear suspension is from a Plymouth Volare. All parts were then replaced with NEW everything - calipers, rotors (disc), pads, shoes, springs, shocks, clips, retainers, bushings, bearings, gaskets, hoses, lines, stainless hardware, longitudinal torsion bars, cables (E-brake). I also retro-fitted power steering, power brakes, and (Vintage Air) air conditioning. The sub floor is stainless steel. Everything underneath the car is tidy, attractive and clean.
DRIVELINE: Engine is a 340 Six Pack Dodge. Bored (0.030 over), honed, decked, leveled and squared at the machine shop. 3 Holley 2 barrel carburetors. Crank is 0.010 under. Camshaft (Purple) is new, new lifters. New block hugger Hooker headers and aluminized exhaust through new Chrysler mufflers. Again, this was a comprehensive rebuild - new rods, pistons, valves, seals, gaskets, bearings, seals, belts, hoses, clamps, stainless hardware, lightweight fan, original radiator was double cored. Gas tank was cleaned, reconditioned, and recoated by NU TANK. Like the engine, a Chrysler 904 automatic transmission was totally rebuilt to heavy-duty specifications (new clutches, bands and valve body). Volare driveshaft was balanced with two new U-joints. Volare rear end was rebuilt with new ring and pinion, seals, bearings. It has a streetable gear (3.25) in it, so you can comfortably cruise with traffic in town and out on the Interstate.
EXTERIOR: New Coker 15x7 Chrome Wheels (and chrome lug cover hub caps) and radial tires 235/75x15. The fifth spare is also new. Triple chrome plated original bumpers. All door handles, grille, and exterior pieces are re-chromed. The Cloisonné on the RAM hood emblem is re-newed. The mirrors are new chrome swan-neck after market. The body was soda blasted, primed, and repainted single stage Magenta. Pin striping by Donnie Strother. All new tinted glass.
ELECTRICAL: Chrysler electronic ignition, Chrysler alternator, all-new wiring (soldered and heat shrunk), Kenwood Stereo and 4 speaker system, interior dash and dome lights (cab and bed). NOS tail lights and lenses. NOS headlights and lenses. NOS Dodge horns.Added side marker lights in the splash aprons and front turn signals are from 32 Ford. Add also 3rd brake lights in the rear door windows. It's wired for a backup light, but I haven't put one back there yet. Red Top Optima battery. Everything works as it should.
INTERIOR: Vintage Air air conditioning. Chrysler tilt steering column, new Grant steering wheel, burl wood grain dash, custom rotary dash mounted shifter (cable pull). VDO gauges (all functional). BMW power, black leather seats, multi-adjust with DODGE logo on seat platforms. Cut pile carpet in cab and bed. Side panels are grey tweed with DODGE logo.
This is a great truck! It turns heads wherever I take it and does so without gaudy or tacky gimmicks. I hate to sell it, and I won't unless the price is right, so please - serious inquiries only. Build sheets, receipts, records, documents, clean title, and provenance typical of a vehicle of this caliber will be included in the sale.
