***STARTING BID AUCTION, ONCE HIT, HIGHEST BIDDER WILL WIN!No Hidden Reserve
(Revised the starting bid price, as received several offers. Highest BUY NOW OFFER to end auction is$20,999 - I am considering it...)
For Sale is a ground up restored 1972 Dodge Challenger True "JS" Code Rallye Edition. Here is your chance to own one of the true American classic muscle cars!
There were just 6,902 Challenger Rallye's produced in 1972 (Total Challenger production was only 22,919 in 1972). This car is not only a true collectible muscle car but you will get looks every single time you take it out! A truly sharp car. This Rallye package provided the largest V8 available on a challenger in 1972, which was a 340 cu inch. Rallye cars also received power disc front brakes, which work great. The car stops dead straight. There were also other options that rounded out the Rallye package, including the sleek unmistakable awesome looking hood. This car was a factory A/C car, which has been currently removed. (Do have the compressor, see picture of trunk)
The car was a ground up restoration, done within the last 2 years. The black glossy paint was done right with all door jams perfectly finished, as is the trunk deck lid. The car shows well and the paint alone at this level is $6000-$7000. The sides of the car are laser straight and the gaps on the doors and fenders are nice. The doors have no sag and close crisply. This car will definitely turn heads at local car shows! The car rides on New Cragar SS wheels with new tires.
The car is currently equipped with a period correct 318- V8 that has been rebuilt and has a new Edelbrock # 1406 4- bbl carb. Car starts easily and and sounds terrific! The black interior was redone as needed. New headliner and front seats were redone but the back seats look to be the original and in great condition. Both seat belts work, as they should. Dash appears original, as well. Speedometer and odometer are working as is the gas guage, the tach and clock are not. All lights and blinkers work accept reverse lights. New glove box, but needs to be installed. Included is an original set of the Owner's manual (operators guide) & Emissions booklet - still in original plastic case. see photo.
The undercarriage shows zero rust and floor pans are very solid. The car appears to have been kept indoors most of it's 40+ life. Looks to have original undercoat that has protected the undercarriage very well, as the pictures show. The odometer works and reads 110,000 miles. The front suspension appears original as does the power steering box.
You will be hard pressed to find another ground up restored car this clean and redone for this type of money (see ebay item #201798559883). Just the cost of finding and buying a NON rust Challenger Rallye car, plus the cost of new parts, plus body work, plus paint and labor will take you way past this price... The Velocity cable TV car show "Graveyard Carz" has added even more desire for Mopars and Challengers in particular!
I am not pricing or representing this car as a Show Quality car but a ground up restored rare challenger that will turn many, many heads!
