Description of 1964 Dodge Polara

All the good,Here we have an all around nice driving car. I drive this car almost every day, and it has never failed me. It is an original 383ci big block as I have decoded on the fender tag. At some point along the way it has had a 1968 440ci HP engine (375 horsepower &490 ft pds of torque) installed to its 727 automatic transmission. The 8 3/4 rear end has 3:23 sure grip rear end. A brand new exhaust system was put on the car less than 6 months ago. The brakes have all been gone through as well as the suspension. Nice Aluminum radiator has lead to no problems cooling this big block even on hot days. The cars paint and bodywork is about 15 years old and still shines very well, but is showing some age on old repairs. I would call it a 10 footer. It looks great driving down the road and I get compliments at the local show and cruises. It has a working power top and power brakes. The interior is in great shape. The convertible boot is new and from Legendary interiors.and the car has passed a recent Missouri state inspection with no issues.
And the less desirable,It is more of a hot rod than a restoration. The car had a grant wood steering wheel on it when I got it and I replaced it with a period correct wheel but did not get the horn working. It had a small tear in the top and I had an upholstery shop put a patch on it. The top does not leak a drop. Somewhere along the way someone put sequential tail lights in it, but they are in working order. IF desired a standard tail light harness(which are available from reproduction sources) could be ordered. The lights behind the instrument cluster do not work, so only an issue in late evening. The instrument clusters temp gauge doesn't work but has an aftermarket gauge screwed to the bottom of dash. There is a radio in the glove box and speakers in the kick panels. In the last six months of driving regularly it has leaked about 1/2 pint of transmission fluid. There is some slight bubbling under the paint on the passenger door. The trunk has been boxed in and carpeted so things don't slide around( actually a decent job). It being an old convertible means it has had some floor pan work at some time but there is no holes in the floor that I have found and someone coated it with heavy undercoating.
I drive this car to out of state events regularly, I wouldn't be scared of driving it home.
I cannot think of anything I haven't disclosed but if your wanting to bid and have questions please call me at 636-399-1435 prior. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and/or send you specific photos.I received some old photos of the car when it was being torn down to paint. I believe the car spent sometime in the UK at some point in its life.
