Description of 1955 Dodge Other Pickups OTHER |
This is a great old telephone truck project. When was the last time you saw one? I remember these running around the neighborhood when I was a kid. I always wanted to fix one up as they were back then. Or, maybe, a 1964 or 1965 GMC panel with a V6 and Powerglide and make it into a Helm's Bakery truck. There was a real cool International Metro Step Van that a plumbing company had locally too. Anyway, I bought this one to repair but have way too many other projects to complete. I either have to let some go or live to be 150 years old. The body is very straight except for a "boo boo" on the left rear corner. It bent the fender up a bit. It is sitting on top of the service body in the pics. There is almost zero rust. The flathead 6 cylinder motor and 3 speed column shift trans are intact. There were a few parts stolen from it according to the previous owner. The starter, distributor and a few other items are not present. The previous owner told me it was running and driving when parked. It has been sitting since the 1980s. The service body is cool! It has a myriad of drawers and bins etc. I put a later set of 15" wheels on it. They are wider than the original 16" and a little easier to find tires for. I still have the stock wheels too. There is no longer a title for this truck. It has been on a California ranch since the early 80s. I will sell it with a bill of sale. If you need a title, for export etc, I can get one, in my name, for an extra charge, after it is paid for. I live in Southern California, about 75 miles North of Santa Barbara and 10 miles South of Pismo Beach. I have a car trailer and can deliver it, after it is paid for, for $1/mile round trip up to 200 miles or so. I do have it on craigslist locally for $2200. I reserve the right to end the auction early for that reason. My cell number is 805 550 8502 Most of the cars in the background are for sale too. The 56 sedan delivery and the Metro van are sold as is the 55 Chrysler. Blessings! Dana |
