Description of 1978 Dodge Other Pickups

1978 1 Owner Lil Red Express Truck--I found this truck in a garage where it had been sitting since 1999--It had 4 flat tires and about 3 inches of dust on it-The gentleman I got the truck from bought it new in 1978--It still has the original title issued new in 1978-has all records of service-He is now in his late 70's--and it was sitting in the garage-It took some haggling but I convinced him to sell it--So I yanked it up with my winch-it had 4 flat tires from sitting-I did not attempt to start the truck--I trailered it back home and began the process of getting it back up and going-I pulled the plugs and poured marvel mystery oil down the cylinders and let it sit for about 5 days-then I changed the oil and fuel and fuel filter and new plugs-and put in new antifreeze and turned the motor by hand--I put in a new battery and it started right up-I have since changed the oil again after I let it run for a bit--The truck runs fantastic---The truck itself is in 100% original condition with no paint work and no components changed out-It is 100% factory original-I then went to work on the body-I washed it a couple times then started cleaning it up-It cleaned up very very well-It shines real nice-It does have some stone chips in the paint but it is rust free-I actually couldn't believe how well it cleaned up--The undercarriage is excellent-still has this factory sealer on the floorpans-They are perfect-zero rust!!!!! the floors are perfect-as is the frame-It was maintained well over the years--the wood in the bed is all original and could stand some work-Check the pic-But the metal in the bed is excellent-The wood on the side of the bed and the tailgate is good-See the pics-I did end up putting on new tires and rims-I do have the factory wheels--5 of them in fact-It has the original Good Year spare which was an option for this truck--I have shown a pic of the original wheel just to show that I do have them-The one in the bed is the original spare-The other is the one that was on the truck--All the decals are nice on the truck-The interior of the truck is the optional black buckets-the driver seat has a split in the seam and the carpet could stand a cleaning-The dash is very nice-All the gauges. ights. adio and wipers all work as they should the radio has a crackle when you adjust the volume then its fine-Everything works as it should-Like I said its 100% original except the new wheels but I have the 5 original wheels-If you don't want the new rims I will keep them and give you a break on the price-I will put the originals back on if you so desire--If your looking for an original lil red express truck to hop in and drive this is it--Its a nice truck and I think I described it well-Look at the pics and ask any questions you may have-the Lil Red Express Trucks are getting harder to find-especially 100% original no rust. never messed with 1 owner!!! in 1978 the made 2188 of these trucks-and was the fastest production vehicle in America from 0-100 mph as tested back in 1978--So obviously if your looking for one the 1978 is the one to have--please feel free to come and inspect this truck-I live in Elmira NY and the truck is sold as is of course --It is a 78!!-and its one rare truck-Below is some information on the Lil Red Express truck78 Lil' Red TruckDodge released the Lil' Red Express Truck In 1978 it was one of the most unique Dodge trucks that had ever been produced.
