Description of 1918 Dodge Other

This 1918 Dodge Brothers Touring is a very nice car and an easy project.

This car was owned by the same family for the last 60+ years. It was a long term project that unfortunately was never completed. It is in very, very solid condition. No rot to speak of, even the lower portion of the car is extremely solid all the way around. The door jams, sub rail and floor areas are solid. The doors themselves are also very, very solid and nice. This is an extremely nice body.
The frame off restoration of this car was began in the 1970's and has not seen the road since that process was started. There are receipts from around 1972 through the 1990's for lots of purchases made along the way.
The paint is approxiamtely 20 years old and is driver quality, with plenty of scuffs and chips from the things that happen over the course of 20 years of shuffling a car around a garage and likely being used as shelving/storage unit during periods where the project stalled. Much of it could be buffed and it would be a very presentable car in my opinion.
The seat bottoms front and rear were rebuilt and reupholstered.
This car came to me with the story that the engine was rebuilt at some point during the restoration process. I cannot prove this, but it does appear complete, tidy, and turns over easily by hand. It does have an adapted Winfield carburetor on it. ($$$)
The headlight buckets are included, along with bezels and nice original glass lenses. The top assembly is the worst part of this car. It is almost non existent, but some of the wood and very tattered/rusty irons will be included to hopefully be used as potential patterns. The windshield and hood are included, as are multiple other odds and ends. It is missing one running board.
Old California title (1972 issue) signed off by the widow (power of attorney) of the long term owner.
These are getting hard to find and are a great alternative to your typical Model T. Early Dodges were actually very well built cars that were ahead of their time in many ways. These are stout and reliable old cars. This happens to be a nice example of one that is anxiously waiting for someone to take it over the finish line. This will really make someone a great car.

Location is near Portland, Oregon.
