| 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440-6 Pack 4spd Convertible Factory Dealer Demo Car A total of 99 440-6 Pack Challenger convertibles were produced. This is one of 61 1970 Challenger Convertibles Produced with a 440-6 Pack Engine and 4spd Transmission. The correct VIN is stamped on the following: Engine Trans Cowl Radiator Support Dash Tag Door Sticker All of the above is documented in the pics. Most collectors would be happy to own any original 440-6 Challenger convertible. The next owner of this car will be able to claim to have one of the most desirable of the few that still exist today. The reason being that it was ordered from Chrysler as a Dealer Demo car to display many desirable options. Therefore. it is heavily optioned from the factory. It not only got the great color combo of Hemi Orange and Black. it got: Hemi 4spd. uper Track pack 4:10 Dana. nbsp;Longitudinal Stripes. Hood Tape treatment. Chrome Racing Mirror. Rally Dash. Console. PT. PS. DB. M/FM with three speaker dash. im Blow wheel. tc. This car is a very early production car that has a scheduled production date of Aug 29. 1969. There is a complete owner history going back to 1980s. It was restored in the 90s and enjoyed by its owner for about 20 years. The restoration began to show its age so the car was treated to a beautiful new paint job in 2013. The paint is now excellent. The bottom of the car is very clean and shows minor wear. The mechanicals are all in excellent condition. The car can be driven anywhere. The interior is very nice showing only minor wear. The original Dash Pad is perfect. the original door panels are very nice with no chalking. holes or cracks. The carpet shows some slight fading but otherwise excellent cond. The seat belts are original with date coded tags still nice and white in color. The convertible top is the correct grain. glass back window and excellent condition. The engine bay is detailed with NOS voltage regulator. NOS wiper motor. NOS Radiator cap. NOS Plug wires. Correct 956 Rad. NOS 6pk Air cleaner with correct Fram air cleaner element. etc. The battery shown is a dead prop for pics. A good working modern battery is included. The VIN Stamps are all shown in the pics. The door sticker is peeling on the corners because it is still the original door sticker. not a reproduction. The engine stamp numbers . ize and spacing look correct. The font looks different than the trans stamp. see pics. All the date codes on the engine match. All dates must fall in order and before the scheduled production date of the car. The dates are as follows: Scheduled production date of car 8/29/69 Assembly date 8/17/69 Block casting date 1/17/69 F440 1970 model year The factory used the same font stamp for both the engine and trans unless there was an issue on the assembly line which caused the line worker to hand stamp one or the other with a different font stamp. Other reasons for a different font stamp could be: Dealer stamped . past owner stamped. etc Recap: Rarity- one of 61 produced Desirability- Hemi and 6 pack convertibles are the most sort after Mopars Quality- Original car with Beautiful paint job on straight OEM sheet metal body and correct drive train.
