Description for Dodge Coronet 1956

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT the owner of this car, but am trying to help sell it to settle an Estate.I will do my best to find the answer to any questions you may have.

Offered for your bidding consideration is an amazing opportunity for any classic Mopar fan.

The car is a 1956 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer 2-door hardtop (it is NOT a Coronet -- Ebay is trying to convince me it is, haha!) It is the V8 with the pushbutton automatic, radio, heater, and factory fender skits. Remember the old tri-tone color combos? This one is light blue on the bottom, royal blue in the middle, and white on the top. The car is apart and was in the middle of a stalled restoration project.

The best part: This is a Genuine one-owner car with the documentation to prove it.Comes with the ORIGINAL NC title from 1956, along with the Bill of Sale. I have known the car all my life – went to church with these folks and went to school with the 2 sons.

Here’s the story:Original owner gave the car to his second son in 1980, but never conveyed the title. The son rebuilt the engine in 1980, put about 500 miles on it when he parked it in his parents’ carport and started disassembling the car for restoration. He removed all the chrome and repainted the Royal blue portion (which still looks very good) … and then life got in the way.

His Dad (the original owner) died some 10 or so years later, but his widow is still alive with the Court papers that allow her to transfer ownership of the car.

Now within the last year, the second son (who started the restoration) has himself passed away. Now an effort is underway to sell the car to settle HIS estate.

So several weeks ago, the car was pulled into the sunlight for the first time in 40 years. An effort was made to take photos of everything, and as far as I can tell, everything is present except for 2 taillight lenses on one side of the car, and a headlight ring.

We did NOT try to start the car. The engine does turn by hand, so it is not locked up. With some work, it will probably run. No guarantees.

The car needs total restoration. It has the original upholstery, which had seat covers put on it when new, but is worn out.The carpet was removed and discarded.

This car has the potential to be a very nice, expensive car.It is being sold with NO RESERVE – once it is bid upon, the car will be sold.

I have quite a few more photos if you are interested.
