Description of 1967 Dodge Polara

For your consideration is this beautiful original 1967 Dodge Polara sedan. Still wearing it's original CA black plates. this car has lived its entire life in Northern CA. Originally purchased in Petaluma. and lived in the Santa Rosa area until I purchased it in 2012. As far as I can tell. from original documents still in the car. this car was loved and cared for by its original owner until the early 2000's. You can see it was really well taken care of until this point. as the car is still wearing its factory appliedplastic seat cover on the rear seat. I believe either the 2nd or 3rd owner took off the plastic cover on the front seat. which I wouldnot have done. and even after being used for several years. the front seat still has virtually no wear. It's an interestingly ordered car:Air conditiong. Tinted Glass. Fender mounted turn signal indicators. (power steering. brakes. automatic of course. almost a given by this point in time)and that's it. no radio!Exterior:Still wearing its original factory paint. a nice 2 tone combination of Light Tan upper body. and Medium Tan Metalic lower body. Still shines very nicely. with little fade or oxidation present. It does have normal wear and tear for a 50 year old original paint. with scratches and dings and a few thin spot on the tops of fenders etc. Someone did some touch ups on a few spots with not quite matching paint. which I would try and remove if I had the skill to do so. (but I don't!)No surface rust. except for a slight spot on the roof. which is an odd place for it. see pic. No major dents or dings of any kind. other than small scrapes which appear as normal. Chrome is original and shine very nicely. again not perfect in any way. but much nicer than normal for a car of this age. Interior:Here's the really special part. The only thing not original inside. is the front carpet. which a previous owner slapped in with little care to try and match the original. Easily replaced with a new front carpet kit. The seat upholstery is almost as new. with a couple light wear spots on the driver seat. If I were going to keep the car. I would re wrap the front seats in plastic to keep them as pristine as possible. As it is now. I keep several layers of protective sheets/towels etc on the driver seat whenever I drive it to minimize wear. Door panels are equally amazing. as is the head liner. Dash is near perfect with no cuts/cracks or anything like that. The car was not ordered with a radio! And the dash is still in exactly the shape it was when ordered. All interior lights work as they should. as does the heater. AC system kicks on. but has not been investigated. and would need a recharge at the very least. Trunk is rust free like the rest of the car. but not longer has its original mats. Mechanical:The original 383 2 barrel mopar engine and Torque Flight transmission work beautifully. Starts at the turn of the key. choke etc work as they should. Drives and tracks perfectly down the road. Has a 3. 23 rear axel. which makes the car surprisingly peppy. Brakes work as they should. steering is tight. It's a 50 year old car. so oil drips are certainly part of the game. Recent work includes a new muffler on one side of the dual exhaust. and the passenger side exhaust manifold re sealed. Along with a new vacuum advance unit. Tires are radials of unknown age. but are still in very serviceable shape. I had the vin and fender tag decoded at an enthusiast web site. and have included a picture of the results. Original build sheet is also included. not in perfect shape. but still very nice. Why sell?I love original condition cars. and have collected many. I enjoy them all. but if I keep them all. then I can't experience new ones :)Questions are welcome. and the car can be seen in Walnut Creek by appointment if desired. Reserve is very reasonable. It's just a lovely old survivor 4 door sedan. not a tri five with extortionate value. More detailed photos available upon request.
