The Story:

I had been looking for some time for an old Dodge van for RVing and general daily use. I was looking for something to “work” on as I am now retired and have the time to do so.

Although I am not a mechanic, these old Dodge vans are generally pretty easy to work on.

We found this old van that was going to be parted out to complete two other projects by it’s previous owner.

The van needed a lot of work when we found her, but she is a all original, fully loaded, NO RUST, a Tennessee gem.

When I bought her, she did not have any exhaust from the newly installed Redman headers. Took her to a local muffler shop where they customized dual side exhausts and put on Flowmaster 40’s.

(Although this may make you think she’s loud, but really no “drone” inside when driving, but actually a really nice “muscle” van Dodge sound.)

From there I started addressing a few problems, and made the necessary new part replacements for all of the sensors as well servicing the fuel system, transmission and differential service, new Radiator and computer, Duralast battery, etc.

She is not completed and ready to take across country, but she’s close.

TRASNMISSION WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED

Took her to the local transmission shop and they confirmed it. - To do this right,
she'll need a rep[lacement.

She hesitates and sometime stalls when coming to a stop. As well, stalls out most of the time in reverse. To make this project complete, plan on replacing the 518 transmission. I found several rebuilt models that priced out at 575$ delivered. - By winning this auction you do so with the understanding that you will need to replace the transmission to make it right. ( Auction priced accordingly )

The AC system has all the components and the compressor engages from time to time, but does not blow cold. The power windows do not work yet. Drivers side needs a motor and the passenger side needs the guide replaced (I have the motor and guide for the necessary repairs) Easy YouTube fix!

I have a clean TN title. The title read actual miles when I bought it showing actual mileage of 113961. When the title was put in my name, the odometer section of the title is blank. Not sure if this is a TN thing but it is a clean title in my name. The odometer did not work when I bought it and the display shows 01380 which does not match the title. (Can provide pics of current and previous owner titles)

She needs someone to take her over the finish line and I have included a detailed video (above) to give you the best information.

Mounting medical bills force the reluctance of this auction posting. -

I never planned to ever get rid of this van and hope she goes to a home that will finish up a few things to bring her back to her glory.

Additional pics, videos or questions gladly welcomed.

Good luck and thanks for evaluating this old girl!
