68 Dodge Charger Project

1968 Charger Base Model 318 V8, 727 Trans, 8 ¾ Rear, 82881 Miles. Original color was bronze metallic with pearl seats and vinyl roof. Carpet and dash are black. I’ve owned it over 25 years and have aclean Michigan title. The car came from Oregon or Washington state. It ran great and I drove it until I took it apart around 2008. Thecar is all apart now. A lot of the dusty, dirty, noisy, hard work isdone. I have included some pictures from before I took it apart soyou can see what I started with.

The good: Nosurprises here! What you see is what you get, and you can seeeverything. Solid frame, back seat floor, and passengers floor. Fenders, hood, and doors are great. Most all the little odds andends are cleaned, painted, and ready to go. Front seats and centerconsole were cleaned, painted, new foam, and recovered. Back seatand carpet is original and decent. Original green tinted glass is there except the windshield went inthe dumpster. Bumpers and valances are good. Hideaway headlightsworked when I took it apart. Grill (1 crack) and taillights arenice. Have new panel for between the trunk and rear window.

The Not So Good: Needs Driver’s floor, Trunk floor parts, and Quarterpanels and atleast 1 inside sailpanel. The roof metal will need some TLC. Needsa new vinyl roof and headliner.

The reality: Justlike you could expect from any 55 year old machine, the dash and someother interior components could use some TLC. I took it apart andwas at the point I needed to buy some sheet metal parts when fear ofthe 2008 financial crisis hit, then I changed addresses a coupletimes. Progress stalled and I never got back to it. Too manyprojects.
