Description of 1964 Dodge Polara

1964 Dodge Polara

I bought this car no-engine from Collector Motors in Houston TX. Then bought the mid 70’s 440 which never quite worked well in the car. Might have to do do with internal v. external balance. I had weights welded to the torque converter but still not right. Also had trouble with electronic ignition.I have invested a ton in this car but I need the space for other projects and I have lost interest. Time to cut losses and move on.

I had door panels and back seat reupholstered covering just the bad areas and preserving the tri-star and swirly embossing from the factory materials. Door panels still need installed. Needs new headliner. All Interior window trim is rusted and needs rechroming. I never finished the interior. You might want to find buckets and do a D500 interior.

I think the car may have had race history as the nose was high and it had traction bars when I got it. Nose dropped by adjusting the torsion bars.

Some rust repair in floors but they are good now. A little bubbling over the right rear wheel but doesn’t seem to worsen. An up ding in the hood thanks to a mechanic I am sure. All in all a good 20 footer. Nice paint not perfect but head turner. Straight!

Mostly complete. Missing hood lip trim (thanks to mechanic again) and one roof side panel tristar.

Tires are old 14’s on rally rims. They have tread but bad sidewalls. Just for rolling around. You will need new tires for street use!

It runs and drives stops and turns chirps the tires when shifting.

I am offering the car in THIS SALE with NO ENGINE. That’s right I will remove it. You get the tranny but no engine.

If you want the engine left in the car ADD $2000 for the ENGINE.

Call if you have any question about this! Roy 303-988-0391

I also have a freshly built 69 Road Runner 383 built with tons of high performance parts that I can sell with the car (in it or along side). Inquire if interested.
