1946 Dodge Pick Up Truck

MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition an resto-mod 1946 Dodge truck. Almost every aspect of this truck has been restored or upgraded with modern performance parts. Starting with a healthy 525 horsepower 392 cubic inch Hemi V8 from a 1958 Chrysler; the engine has been bored .030″ over with a shaved block and heads and has a Comp camshaft with high dome pistons. Custom dual-cone air intakes feed the Edlebrock carburetor with an electronic choke. The carburetor has been fitted with MSD electronic ignition for reliability. The builder clearly intended this truck to be driven frequently thus he added the MSD ignition and a brand new Northern aluminum oversized radiator to keep the 392 Hemi cool. Mated with the Hemi is a TorqueFlite automatic transmission that handles the added power with ease and shifts seamlessly. To finish the performance aspects of the truck are true-dual Thrush exhaust system exiting in a custom center housing.

Dripping in beautiful Copper Mango Tango paint this all steel body show truck has been tastefully modified to give a very sleek custom look paint and body are excellent and will stand out at any show or car event. The most noticeable custom cosmetic feature is that the side hood panels have been removed to display the 392 Hemi; the builders did manage to keep the original hood top that still opens in the clam-shell style. All of the exterior handles have been shaved as well as the front and rear bumpers. To continue the sleek lines the both headlights and tail lights have been “frenched” into the fenders. Every reworked piece on the truck has been color matched with the body paint color. This includes the power bed cover that protects the refinished wood truck bed.

Taking a step inside the cab reveals an interior that has seen as much care and attention to detail as the exterior of the truck. Both seats have been replaced with modern style truck seats covered in a tasteful tan vinyl that are in excellent condition; both door panels have received the same treatment as well. New billet arm rests with alligator style vinyl adjoin both doors that have electric windows too. The dashboard steering column center console and visor area all have been color matched with the exterior paint color. All new tan carpets have been added and have very minor signs of use. The user interface inputs and gauges have been replaced; however the horn and speedometer are not functioning. Finally an AM/FM stereo has been added along with speakers.

Mechanically this Dodge truck is amazing; it could be used as a daily driver if desired. The Hemi has more than enough power to cruise the interstate system and sounds spectacular. Rack-n-pinon steering power front disc brakes and rear drum brakes make driving the truck extremely easy and pleasurable. Heidts front end suspension was bolted on to provide added stability. Chrysler’s TorqueFlite transmission shifts smoothly and cruises well even at highway speeds. A 10 bolt Posi-traction rear end helps deliver power to the road. Finally the newer radial tires with added whitewalls really bring together the truck.
