4 Speed Slick Shift manual transmission

132993 Miles

VIN WL21G3A299945

Original 318 Automatic car green exterior and interior.

This car has been heavily modified over the years.

Pictures tell the story best.

Body:

Most of the body is original.

In about 1990 the body was restored / customized as follows:

* Areas of rust were repaired with new metal being welded in. These areas were mostly at the bottom corners of doors and fenders.

* Factory hood was replaced with lift off fiberglass hood with Six Pack scoop.

* Vinyl roof was removed.

* Most of the exterior trim was removed.

*Bumpers (and tail lights) were replaced with parts from a 1972.

* Car was painted with lacquer color and clear coat. Color is 1984 Chrysler Crimson.

Engine:

* 1964 413 rebuilt in 1985

*Bored .030 over

*Mopar Performance Hemi Grind .284 duration .484 lift cam.

*1968 440 906 Heads

*Torker intake

*Holley 750 vacuum secondary carburetor (rebuilt in 2014)

*Hooker Super-comp headers

*Mopar Performance electronic ignition

Drive Train:

*4-Speed manual trans from a 1968 383 Charger modified to "Slick Shift"

*Hurst Super Shifter III

*Hays Street Strip clutch

*Hays solid steel flywheel

*Drive shaft safety loop

*8-3/4 Rear axle from 1968 Charger Sure Grip 4.30:1 Richmond gears

*Long wheel studs in rear

Suspension:

*Front – stock

*Rear – Mopar Performance Super Stock leaf springs

*Brakes – Disc Front with line lock drums rear

Interior:

*Dash rear seats door panels are stock in the stock green color.

*Front seat has been replaced with plastic racing buckets.

*No carpet

*Big hole in the floor to get shifter thru.

*Gages - Sun tach vintage Stewart Warner oil pressure Stewart Warner temp digital voltage

*Headliner is shot and needs replaced

Electrical:

*Original electrical system has been bypassed. There is a switch panel for start

and run and headlights. Original wiring is still in place for the most part. I

believe the bulkhead connector thru the firewall needs repaired and that would

allow the electrical to be returned to stock without too much trouble.

*Battery has been relocated to the trunk

*External electrical cut off switch

Fuel System:

*8 Gallon fuel cell in trunk

*Holley street electric pump

*Mallory filter

*3/8" Aluminum hard fuel line and braided steel flexible lines (braided replaced in 2014)

* Factory fuel tank has been removed

Condition:

NOTE ON MILEAGE:

Odometer has not been hooked up since I changed to the Slick Shift trans but there have not been more that 1000-2000 miles put on the car since then.

Body:

There are a few spots where rust is starting to come thru. The rocker panels under the doors on both sides have a hole and there are a couple of spots around the wheel wells.

The paint job is showing its age. The hood roof and trunk all have what looks like small pits from acid rain and there are a lot of dime size spots that look like tree sap or something has damaged the paint.

The paint below the bottom body line was never wet sanded so it has a matte look to it.

I think wet sanding and rubbing it out would remove about 80% ofthe defectsand make it look good as a race car or street car.

There is also some waviness in some areas where the body work was done or the factory stripe was removed.

The roof has some "oil can" to it in the center.

The door hinges are missing the rollers and springs that hold open the doors. The driver door needs hinge alignment adjusted a little.

Engine:

Starts easy and runs well still plenty of power.

Transmission:

Shifts well. Some say that a Slick Shift trans isn't for street but for limited use it's not a problem. It has to be shifted hard and fast and downshifts require double clutching. But for racing its great.

Wheels and Tires:

Wheels are Cragar Pro Tech and I know the style is dated. (1) Center cap is missing and the chrome has some rust.

Tires are Goodyear Eagles not much tread left.

Exhaust:

The exhaust system needswork. The header gaskets are leaking pretty bad and the mufflers need replaced.

You could go a lot of different ways with this car:

I used to bracket race on ΒΌ and 1/8 mile tracks. You could probably take it right to the track and race it the way it is. Best times werearound 12.50 @105 inthe 1/4 7.90 1/8 mileon slicks

and open headers.

It was legal at NHRA tracks in the 90's but I'm not sure about any rule changes since then. I never used to have to mess with it just backed it off the trailer and ran it.

With a minimum of work (electrical) it could be made more convenient to drive on the street.

You could also change it to a different type of race car. A road track or NASCAR clone would be easy.

If you wanted to drive it long distances or as a daily driver the electrical would definatly need to be put back to stock.

Spare parts included:

* Car cover included

* I have the original front bench seat if you want it but its been sitting in my barn for 20 years.

* Most of all the trim that was removed goes with the car.

* 4-Speed stock manual trans.

* Stock 1970 Chrysler 440 engine and 727 trans

Please look carefully at the pictures as they describe the condition best.
