Description for Edsel Ranger 1959

1960 Edsel Ranger Sedan

Austin, Texas history - clear Texas title - complete project car last tagged in 1968 - 1 of 1,126 produced in last year Edsel !

Here Velocity's Iron Resurrectionshow regular&legendary Austin, TexasradiopersonalityBama Brown tell the story behind this unique & rare Texas Edsel in the video above ^^

This car will need a complete restoration inside and out. It still wears 1968 Texas license plates. The body is very solid, especially for an Edsel. This has always been a Central Texas dry climate car. Much of the original special Turquoise Metallic paint is still intact for an attractive patina in areas. The bumpers are in decent shape front to back and all of your rare stainless is there sans possibly a piece or two. The tail light lenses have been replaced. The interior is all there and so is the original 292 V8 underhood that turns free. Check out the photos and again be sure to play the video tour and listen to the story about this Edsel. It is sold with a low reserve. View my feedback and bid with 100% confidence. Good luck in the auction.

The original identification plate is in excellent condition. Check out the old original Turquoise Metallic paint. This Edsel was ordered with the 292/185 V8 engine and finished in Turquoise Metallic paint with silver & black interior. The transmission is an automatic and the rear end gear is 3.10s in a special STOUT original 9-inch Ford rear end with the big bearings. This rear end is 60-inches and perfect for hopped-up Ford Model A applications.

The dash and steering wheel are original and intact along with the factory gauges. The interior displays original upholstery front to back. You can ordered great reproduction patterns to match the originals in these Edsels fortunately. At one time you can tell this car had dealer-optioned protective plastic. The back seat is still in good shape and so is the headliner. We do have a replacement windshield that will be included.

Underhood is the original 292 Y-Block factory rated at 185 horsepower. This engine hasn't ran in years, it will turn free by hand and we believe it to be a good motor (SEE VIDEO). The original breather assembly is intact along with the fuel pump, generator, and all engine parts. The original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support is straight and solid throughout.

The body is original front to back. There are a few dings and weather wear front to back. The windshield is cracked but we have agreat replacement included. The Edsel rides on a 120-inch wheelbase and has an overall length of 216 inches.

The driveshaft is in the trunk. We also have a recently done radiator included. The original trunk mat is still in place and there in some jacking equipment. (See photos) The trunk and inner quarters are solid as are the door undersides. The flooring and braces appear solid as well.

We've got a couple of extra wheels and a set of keys too. Again, the old car appears overall solid. Obviously not without flaws! This isa Central Texas car and it shows. All of the glass is intact and in good condition, check out the big black glass. Enjoy the remaining photo slideshow and again feel free to contact myself, Sam, at 972-748-6389 or email with any question.
