Description of 1989 Jeep Wagoneer

Passing on my 1989 Grand Wagoneer to a new owner. This would be a great driver or restoration project. I'll list pros and cons below. and I'm open to any questions and will be as forthcoming about condition and issues as I can be. As most know - these are getting rare to find. and even more rare to find inexpensive drivers in reasonable condition. I'd be confident to drive this anywhere (but of course. as with any older vehicle. do so at your own risk). The pictures show the vehicle dirty (have been driving in the snow. too cold to wash it now. and more snow due tomorrow!) - it will clean up very nicely. Pros: Daily driven - runs. drives. shifts. stops greatNewer Cooper Discover ATR tires (new in 2009) with great. even tread all aroundHot heat. cold ACNew coolant hoses and accessory belts - cooling system just pressure tested and leak-free4WD works greatSeats are very comfortable and in generally good shapeDash is clean and uncrackedAll glass and chrome is in great shapeOverall paint shines VERY nicely. wood trim in good shape for the yearStarts easily even in very cold weatherAll gauges work properly. including compass and outside temperature in the overhead consoleCons:Typical Wagoneer frame rust around fuel tank skidplate. No holes - passed inspection - but will need to be addressed eventually. Repair kits are readily available for this specific problem. Lower outer rockers and right quarter have rust that is currently covered with black tape. Left quarter has some bubbling rust and clear coat peel below the fuel filler. Leak from rear main seal - I check oil weekly and top off as needed. Tailpipe rusted through behind the rear axle. Headliner and sun visors need to be reupholstered (the remains are pinned in place. but it's badly torn with parts missing). 1 tear in the bottom left bolster of the driver's seat. Left speakers not working - I believe previous owner just wired the Pioneer head unit wrong. as the balance and fader do not fade to the correct speakers. Hasn't bothered me - still plays talk and music plenty loud and clear for me. Weather stripping on windows is original. and could stand to be replaced. Rear passenger door windows have power. and seem like they want to go down. but do not move in their tracks. Passenger front window is slow in the cold weather we're having. and needs manual help. Driver's window is quick and reliable up and down. It's possible that simply lubing window tracks would resolve all of the window issues. Tailgate window will go up and down fine (with both switch and key). but the tailgate itself will not currently unlatch. I have not removed the access panel to check out why - may be a simple linkage that's not hooked up properly. Please note - I just noticed that the mileage that was reported in 2008 was only a bit lower than the currently showing mileage. Whether this means the mileage was reported higher than actual at that point. or if the odometer stopped working or was replaced at some point since then (it works fine now). I can't say. The mileage at this vehicle's last PA inspection (March of 2014) was a few thousand less than it is now. which would be accurate. Overall: This is an honest driver. a solid. durable vehicle as-is or could be easily fixed up with some time and effort. I'll be sad to see it go. but it's not the right vehicle for our family right now. Will be happy to ship if buyer arranges it. AFTER funds have cleared (count on at least 10 days). Bid with confidence - I have 100% positive feedback on eBay in over 14 years as a member! On Feb-02-15 at 18:44:29 PST. seller added the following information:ADDITIONAL NOTES ADDED 2/2/15 - 1. I noticed what sounds like a minor exhaust leak coming from the passenger side exhaust manifold area. It is not loud. and I hadn't noticed it until now that I'm looking things over more closely. 2. I put down the rear window w/ the key yesterday. and then while driving noticed the voltage gauge was dropping to ~12V every 10 seconds or so like a power window was being engaged. I fiddled w/ the key in the back gate. and was able to stop the consistent power draw - so I would recommend using only the switch up front to raise/lower the rear window until the key switch is addressed.
