Description of 1959 Edsel Villager

OK! Here you have your dream machine, mechanically all original, power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, the Wagon runs and drives with confidence, the paint looks great although is not the best job you can find. The battery may be getting old and will need to be replaced or kept with a tender if you don't star it every other day. The trim is all there but some of the chrome parts have some pitting as shown in the pictures, rear bumper was re-chromed (by me) the rest is as it came when I bought the wagon two years ago. There are a few spots with paint bubbling in the areas you should expect, also shown in the pictures. The interior is complete, all new carpet in the cargo area, decent seat covers seem to be original, all the instrument cluster works, even the radio and clock although both are disconnected now to power the new stereo. Included but not installed is a new headliner, insulation is already there but never got around to install it. There are a bunch of spare parts, brake shoes, brake lines, trim, etc. and etc.One item I need to mention is that if you do not grasp the steering wheel the power steering tries to turn the wheels even when parked, but when you drive the car it doesn't feel like is pulling, the previous owner warned me of this and told me the hydraulic actuator was reconstructed by his mechanic but the problem did not go away, so I'll pass the mystery to you. It really doesn't affect when driving. As an experiment I did remove the hydraulic pump belt and drove the wagon without the assistance and it drives straight. As you can imagine with a car that is as old as I'm it has a lot of character, you can drive it as it is or use it as the base of a total restoration. Either way you'll own a rare Edsel Villager, not many of them are still on the road, only 5600 of this particular year/model were built.Included is a 1959 Ford Shop Manual CD, Ford, Mercury and Edsel shared the same platform for the full size vehicles so all the mechanical parts/diagrams are interchangeable. If you have any questions, please, ask me, I'm here to answer all your inquiries. The car is sold as is where it is, you are responsible for pickup, transportation, etc.I can assist loading the car for transport or deliver it in the San Diego County if we agree on a proper fee, all this once the car is paid in full and payment cleared.Thank you for looking and good luck biding!!!
