Delivered to Italy in Oct 1972then imported to USA before 1977, his is long time Southern California and I've owned it for 10 years. Per the Dino Compendium p.259, errari producedonly401 Euro GTS Dinos and p.207 shows these Euro versions command a 20% price premium. The lighter weight of the Euro version body combined with the more aggressive Euro cams, hree lobe distributor andfree flowing Ansa headers /exhaustmake this a superior driving car to its USA counterpart. USA cars also have extra plumbing in the engine compartment which heat soaks that area.I have owned this car for 10 years and it has never hesitated to start nor suffered hot start issues like US cars can. There is a You Tube videoP6r2JfTqNQsof a cold start showing that starting catches easily and does not smoke.
Major servicing just completed including valve adjust, ll fluids, ilters. All new hoses for engine cooling, uel, il, nd vacuum systems. Includes the rarely changedtunnel cooling hosesand the stainless braided oil cooler hoses. The radiator has been re-cored, ew cooling fans installed, ater pump rebuilt, he header tank and heat exchanger were boiled clean & pressure tested thenall new engine hoses and clamps installed. New fuel lines installed and Scuderia Rampante cross tank and filler neck silicon hoses used. New vaccuum line from the brake boster to the engine. The car drives and brakes straight with proper Michelin XWX tires. The magnesium valve covers are feather light and have had their natural luster restored. The Marelli AEC-103A box has been gutted and a reliable MSD 6AL2 fitted without any concours disparity. New distributor cap, arelli labelled MSD coil and plug wires. While the Dash was being recovered all instruments' electrical contacts were cleaned.
