The Mondial T was the most technically sophisticated consumer road car Ferrari built in the late-1980s, t offered an unbeatable combination of advanced engineering and European luxury. The T equipped a mid-mounted 300-horsepower V-8 with Bosch computerized engine management - placed longitudinally, hile the five-speed rear axle remained transverse, orming a "T," and allowed for a lowered body and chassis that greatly improved road manners. Other notable features included the first power-assisted steering in a Ferrari, lectronically-controlled suspension, nd antilock brakes. The Mondial T built between 1989-93 were essentially the birth of a new generation of V8 Ferrari's predecessor to the 348 and 355 series.
