Offered for your consideration is this terrific 1986 Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Coupe. Sold new in the New York City area, e believe this to be a three owner car from new. This is an exceptional example of what is most likely Ferrari's most durable, ractical and fun to drive Berlinetta apart from a newer model car (which would not only be more expensive to purchase but also to maintain). Unlike the 328GTB, car which in today's market would cost you upwards of $60,000 in this condition, he Mondial features a useable trunk and back seat for a week's worth of luggage, roceries or whatever you might normally carry in a Porsche 911 or other similarly practical sports car. Long undervalued, hey are now the value in today's hot Ferrari marketplace, articularly when they are as sorted out as this car.

The car benefits from an older high-quality repaint that is very even throughout. There are a few inconsequential defects here and there; we fixed a clearcoat issue on the rear bumper while it was in our shop for antifreeze leaks and a full air conditioning system service last month.

The wheels were all recently refinished by a knowledgeable professional and re-shod with Bridgestone Potenzas in the correct staggered front and rear sizes. Detailed photos of these are further below.

Panel fit throughout is excellent. There is an accident in this car's history from 25 years ago and we can find no evidence of these repairs inside, utside or underneath. It has a clean Autocheck history report, owever.

I have enjoyed putting nearly 1,000 miles on this car since we took it into inventory, ost of these were just going back and forth to my home and office for a period of a couple weeks as I have a pleasant backroads commute!

The car's original factory exhaust does not have the typical loose baffles in the tips that cause the 'whistle' common to 328s and Mondials!

A relatively spacious trunk compared to the zipper pocket opening on a 328! Large tools and warning triangle remain with this Mondial, he small tool bag is however not here. We can provide you with a reproduction small tool kit for $200 if you'd like one, hese are considerably better than the factory original tool kit...

Where to begin... the timing belts and rollers were replaced by Karl Troy in Charleston, C just 3,000 miles ago along with a host of other small repairs. When we got the car, he air conditioning (which had been repaired by Troy and others repeatedly) was out again and the compressor was very noisy. We completely overhauled the system with a new compressor, eceiver dryer and some repairs to the wiring of the AC system as well as the climate control in the car. We also solved a number of ignition faults at the plug ends and vacuum leaks and then tuned the K-Jetronic to a perfect idle and cold start as these adjustments had been messed with. Beneath the plenum, hich we removed, epainted and replaced, here were some water leaks that we solved as well. After a thorough examination, e believe this car to be very well sorted and ready for its next new owner. It does not leak oil, ransaxle oil, ntifreeze or anything else for that matter.

Continuing our walk-around of the car...

The Mondial 3.2 is a timeless Pininfarina design that looks low, leek and fast just sitting still!

The Mondial's beauty is not just in its good looks but in its practicality and reliability!

Now let's take a look inside ...

This Mondial 3.2's interior is in very good condition for an original 30 year old sports car with just a hair over 57,000 miles from new.

The seats are in lovely condition and appear to have been well kept.

The rear seats don't appear to have been used much, f at all!

All the switches and dials work well, he windows, ower antenna, lovebox and fuel door releases and climate control do what they're supposed to do! The information panel works well with the exception of a bulb out warning that we can't seem to track down, t may be internal to the warning light module.

The passenger's seat is really very lovely. Both front seats are comfortable and supportive.

Another shot of the near-virgin back seats!

The dashboard and instrument binnacle are uncracked.

Carpet and lower dash are likewise without fault.

The passenger door panel is just as tidy as the rest of the interior!

The instruments work well, ere the car sits at a slightly cold idle.

Oddly, he fuel gauge never registers above 1/2 but is accurate below this. We pulled the sending unit out of the tank and found nothing wrong with it, o perhaps there's something off in the gauge. The clock/timer and tripodometer work correctly.

The original headliner is tidier than it shows here, he flash picked up on all the dirt!

The rear headliner.

One of the other problems we had with this car when it came in was that the sunroof popped up and down but did not go back and forth. No parts are available from Ferrari or from anyone else we could determine, o we repaired it ourselves making parts as we needed to. It now works with a little manual assistance right at the point where it first goes backwards and to help it pop back up in the rear at the end of its travel.

Bottom line now, t least it works!

Note the oft-broken fuse and relay box cover!

Note the cleaned-up wiring around the receiver-dryer - this was no good when new and is often hacked up as this is part of the A/C compressor relay turn-on circuit. We cleaned all of this up as it was a real mess!

All four wheels from left front to right front counter-clockwise. Nice and tidy, beautiful refinishing job!

A very amateur and quick video of the Mondial from stoplight to stoplight, his is such a good running car!

payment/shipping

This Ferrari is being sold by a licensed and bonded dealer of fine used automobiles located in Augusta (where this car is) and Savannah, eorgia. Please understand that this is an unusual 30 year old vintage sports car hand-built by men and not gods - and is thus sold as-is, here-is with no implied or stated warranty or guarantee; please be realistic about your expectations (i.e., f you expect it to be a new Ferrari, ou might want to save up a lot more money and buy one of those instead.) As stated above in the listing, e have made a significant effort over the last few months to correct issues that we found with the car - and with said effort now believe it to be in extremely good health based on many years of experience with other sports, lassic and unusual cars of all types over many years.

Full payment is due within seven days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. Your winning bid is a contract to buy, ot just to look or for first right of refusal; the only reason your contract would be null and void is if it was found that we willingly misrepresented the car in the above description. If you feel you need to inspect the car prior to purchase, lease arrange and have this inspection done prior to placing a successful bid, e welcome your visit. Accepted forms of payment include a cleared certified cheque or wire transfer in the dealership's bank account, r cash in person on pickup (no cash via the mail, Bay!). We require that paperwork be completed prior to or at the time of pickup (should you do this in person) or filed back with us if done remotely. We do not charge any tax to out of state buyers as this is something you handle at the DMV or, aturally, ther dealers in all 50 states.

Shipping or pickup must occur within fourteen days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. We are happy to refer you to one of the high-quality open or enclosed collector car shipping companies that we use frequently in the normal course of business - and we cannot stress enough the importance of using such a carrier and not a random transport broker or carrier you might find online, articularly as this is a unique Ferrari in great condition. For international buyers, e can carry the car to the port of Savannah at no charge or to other ports for a nominal fee, hough shipping beyond the U.S. border must be entirely arranged for and paid by you. Please contact us if you need any assistance with logistics and we'll be happy to help.

We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early at any time during the course of the sale should a sale occur outside of eBay as the car has been offered quietly through other channels over the past couple of weeks. We typically do not do this at all and only when full payment has been received from such a buyer will the auction be pulled.

Any legal action associated with this sale from either the buyer or the seller is to take place in the State of Georgia in the Chatham County Courthouse. The bidder/buyer further agrees that any legal action will be heard in Chatham County in the State of Georgia. All legal actions associated with this auction/sale will be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and buyer agrees to be responsible for all legal costs including, ut not limited to, ourt costs, xpenses, ttorney fees, ost of process service, nd all other costs associated with the normal course of business.QUESTIONS?
