1965 Ferrari Cal Spyder Re-creation - Like No Other - Labor of Love (& Money)
I am pleased to offer this incredible Ferrari California Spyder re-creation. There are Cal Spyder re-creations and then there is THIS Cal Spyder re-creation. This has been a labor of love and nearly endless money for the current owner. He started with a run of the mill Modena Spyder and then decided to re-create the most accurate, money is no object, Cal Spyder re-creation. This is the result. Truly stunning to say the least (in my opinion). VIN # is 05K90G302B058.
According to the owner:
It is an average Modena Spyder but every corner of it has been modified. It has all real Ferrari 250 lights
and gauges and steering wheel. The bumpers and side vents are exact copies. We built the windshield frame and
convertible top assembly, dash is an exact copy, put actual correct size and shape headlight tubes.
Built an aluminum spare mounting compartment forward in the trunk every bit of hardware, handles, lights,
steering column, switches, ashtray, ebrake assemble etc., everything you can see is Ferrari purchased thru
GTO Engineering in England. The interior is all Ferrari grade leather and carpeting.
The car has 40ida Webers, bitter air cleaners, custom built headers, mad ignition, a/c, power steering and
we also put in electric master cylinder and Wilwood pedals, which really made driving so much better.
In the trunk, I built an aluminum bulkhead between the trunk and passenger compartment to accommodate
the spare tire like the originals.
Car is registered as a 1965 Ferrari (great for export).
