Retractable Hardtop

This car runs and drives and with very little attention can be a daily driver just about as is. However, t is such a low mile car and has a nice straight body such that it would be a fantasticrestoration!

I would invite talkingwith anyoneon the phone forits complete history and to answer questions. Here is more about it...

This was my grandfathers car and has been family owned since new. Came with factory custom ordered all white body with blue interior. This 57' Ford Skyliner was owned by my grandfather who was a local Santa Cruz Californiaentrepreneur. He was a long time sponsor of the Miss California Pageant. He started out as a Minnesota bee farmer and did very well selling "Sunny Boy" honey. Later in life he moved to Santa Cruz California where he built and owned Pasatiempo Hotel. Pasatiempo Hotel became the place that the Miss California pageant contestants stayed for many years in the early days of the pagent when hosted in Santa Cruz. This car was in the Miss California parade in 1958. Grandpaalso owned the Community Hospital of Santa Cruz and a local boat shop at the harbor. He loved Ford cars, nd always owned one. This was his favorite.
This classic Ford still runs and drives well and has 81k original miles. The retractable hard-top itself will however need attention and repair. Trunk lift hydraulics do work. It had the upgraded padded dash which will need to be redone. It is a very complete car and even has the trunkluggage box. Engine runs remarkably well and has low miles. Upholstery is very good and was redone once. Body and all running gear are original to car and arestock. Light rust on floors and chrome will need attentionand cleaning. Body is straight with no major repairs. Transmission was rebuilt under 2,000 miles ago.Last drive was450 miles on the coast from Santa Cruz to S. Cal. - ran great and what a nice drive! This is a fantastic car for restoration.
ENGINE
Original V8 Special is still in car with only 81,000 original miles.Enginestill runs well and has had no major repairs.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Original Automatic transmission is present and was rebuilt less than 2,000 miles ago. Steers well andrides well Springs are actually fairly good for age. Had hitch installed that can be removed. Tires are older and if you want to drive it, ou can. But I would really recommend flat bedding this classic to your home.

BODYWORK/TRIM
Car is straight and I don't think it has ever had anybody repair or even ever a small accident. Some rust spots here and there and some corrosionnear top of windshield. Nothing major and car is really quite solid. Trunk raises and trunk hydraulics work. However, oof top will not presently raise and retract due to the rear bottom deck of the roof where it attaches thetrunk hydraulic arms has rusted out and needs to be refabricated.
INTERIOR
The interior has been redone once. The floor is solid butthere is surface rust.It had the optional padded dash that has been removed but the mounting places are still there of course to replace with a new padded dash. All console and gages are complete and present.Carpet has been removed and will need replaced.
BRAKES
One brake line needs attention. I will plan to have it repaired if you wish to drive it away instead of flat-bedding. But with the older bias ply white wall tires, hope you will choose tohaul it and make sure it gets to its new home safely.
