Description of 1968 Ford Torino GT

1968 Ford Torino GT ConvertibleLovely example of the very rare Torino GT Convertible. Local two owner car that has 92,591 miles since new. Car was purchased in 2000 from original Penn. owner and then restored about 11 years ago. Still has original F code 302 engine that now has aluminum intake and more modern Eldebrock 4bbl carb for better reliability and performance but factory intake and 2bbl car come with the car and are in good shape. Also sill has the factory C4 automatic trans that was rebuilt when car was redone. Second owners have only put a little over 5000 miles on the car in last 15 years as they only took to shows and out for weekend cruises. Car is fully decoded and correct in all ways. 76D, orino GT Convertible, andy Apple Red paint that was redone to very high quality and all rubber trim replaced at same time along with windshield surround pieces removed and polished. 8DA, ark Red, omfort Weave Knitted Vinyl bucket seats, 8B, eb. 8th build date. DSO 16 for Philadelphia, .75 axle with Limited slip and has the bigger 9 inch rear with the hump. W, 4 3 speed automatic transmission. All chrome was redone but as many things like badges etc. were kept original and not replaced. Interior is all original and in amazing shape considering its age. Last owners just didn't feel it needed doing and liked the fact the it was factory. Both front seats we did some repair, eeping with last owners theme, hat only factory type vinyl be used so was done very correctly. Dash has one tiny crack in center but otherwise, arpets, oor panels and rear seats are just great. Power convertible top is new with glass rear window and works perfect. Car is amazingly rust free and all panels seem factory. We have ordered new trunk liner and factory spare and jack are there. All gauges, ights and signals work as they should and a tach, lus water temp and oil pressure gauge were tastefully added along with more modern stereo. We just replaced upper ball joints, way bar bushings and put new trans and valve cover gaskets as they were leaking a little from lack of use. Also drained and flushed out all fluids and replaced. Exhaust is brand new and brakes, hocks, uspension have all had lots of stuff worked on or replaced. Car runs and drives just fantastic with everything performing wonderfully. Overall a very well cared for, orrect, ow mileage, are car that will be a proud addition to any collection.
