Description of 1962 Ford Thunderbird |
This 1962 T-Bird car is a great driver because many of the things you discover with an old car like this have already been encountered and fixed. For example, fter buying the car, discovered the fuel system had scale or dirt in it, hich made it run poorly. So I replaced the entire fuel system: the gas tank was re-lined and new fuel lines, ending unit, arburetor, uel pump and filter were installed. This process went on with many of the car's systems---suspension work, he completebraking system, transmission re-build, tc. Things like the carburetor, tarter, teering gear pumpand distributor were rebuilt or replaced. A new radiator, eater coreand frost plug were put in. New seals, heel bearings, ear leaf springs, xhaust manifold and idler arm were installed. That and more are all in the receipts I have. Also, n the ten years I have owned the car no rust has popped out---the body panels have not changed. The car was in storage from the early 80's into the 90's by the previous owner. I have always kept it garaged in the 10 years I've owned it, nd started and drove it every couple of months or so. I have never had it in snow. I'm embarrassed about how much money I've put into this car. I had most of the work done at one place and I have over $11,000 in receipts in the last ten years. You can see the receiptsif you areserious about buying the car and even talk to the mechanic who did almost all of the work for me. the two sentencesin italics below and theunderside pictures were added 7/4/2015 @ 12:00 noon CST in response to a bidders question. The floor pans are original and I would give them a 7+ on a 1-10 scale. That I could see, there is aslim threeinch rust hole in the driver's side floor pan and a silver dollar-sized one in the passenger side pan.The car was in storage from the early 80's into the 90's by the previous owner.
